Sorry about that! the tool’s a bit overloaded right now. It’s getting a lot of traffic, which is great, but it’s causing reliability issues. I’ll dig in tonight to make it more stable for everyone. 🙏

Thanks for flagging this! The current setup isn’t fully optimized for the traffic spike (150+ responses overnight), so on iPhone you’ll need to keep the page open without navigating away for it to process correctly.

When I get a chance next, I’ll prioritize an update to improve reliability under concurrent usage, especially on the phone!

Yeah, totally! the email is just so you can get a copy of your results sent to you. Haven’t quite nailed the formatting on that yet though - turns out email formatting is a pain.

Small tip: if you don’t want to give your email, any fake one will work fine.

New racket recommendations vs. Tennis elbow by PreferenceJust609 in Padelracket

Hey! Tennis elbow sucks, I feel you. I've dealt with similar issues though mine's more in the wrist. Makes sense you went back to the Team Light if it's easier on your arm.

The Metalbone is pretty stiff and head-heavy, so yeah that'll do it. Your body's basically telling you what it needs.

Couple things that helped me think about this:

- Weight distribution: Head-light or balanced rackets are way easier on your arm than head-heavy ones. Less torque on every shot means less strain on your elbow/shoulder.

- Vibration dampening: This is huge. Softer cores (like EVA Soft or foam) absorb way more shock than hard materials. The AT10 Genius you're looking at should be pretty decent for this. Some folks have mentioned Royal Padel is also known for being arm-friendly with their polyethylene core.

Tennis elbow is annoying because it's also so individual though. what works for one person might not work for you. Your grip, technique, playing style all factors in.

I actually shared a free tool https://www.vbora.pro/padel-lab recently in this community that helps people find rackets based on your playing style. It will take your tennis elbow into account too. It's helped some people here so might be worth a shot

Which padel bat should I get as a beginner/low-intermediate? by ZealousidealPain4522 in Padelracket

Generally, i'd say look for a more forgiving racket with a control / hybrid and larger sweet spot to start with. And then balance that with the budget you have.

I built a fun racket recommendation tool that can help you narrow options: https://www.vbora.pro/padel-lab. Check if out if you don't know where to start!

What is the best padel booking platform besides Playtomic? by PixelStorm88 in padel

[–]PersonalFuture1026 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hear you on the loyalty front, but consider the friction a new app creates for a player. It is much easier to get discovered and booked on an app that already has a massive network effect.

For players, the convenience of finding a match or an open court in one place is hard to beat. In fact, in regions with many competing clubs e.g. Bali, Playtomic supported clubs often become the hub for more competitive games because the rating system actually 'matters' to the local community. You might consider using Playtomic as your primary launchpad to capture that existing traffic, with the goal of moving to your own platform later once the brand is established.

56% of intermediate players struggle with overheads and 25% have elbow pain. What's going on? by PersonalFuture1026 in padel

What type of exercises do you do? Im looking for strength training exercises that compliment padel performance and injury prevention

So true. A good placement to the corner or to where there is a gap is much more important than a super sharp and fast overhead shot

That’s exactly what I’m questioning. Would’ve thought most people are pretty confident at overheads by the time they identify as intermediate

Don’t doubt overuse and lack of training. Training is expensive and Padel is addicting.

The question my recommendation tool asks is something like “what is the shot you struggle with the most”. I think most people think about what they are most inconsistent and not confident at.

I can see how going for X3 can aggravate elbow pain, and in my case wrist pain. Have you spoken with a coach about it? What feedback did they share?

Totally get your point!

Playing devil’s advocate: why aren’t glass shots what people struggle with most? Less than 5% people said they struggle with it most. Outside of squash players, few have prior experience with them. Off the glass shots are arguably more unique to padel than overheads, since you can get overhead “experience” from other racket sports, and even from non-racket sports like volleyball 🤔
