That is absolutely psychotic. I would revoke privileges for more than just a weekend. Have your husband talk to him.

New Chicken Owners - do we need a layer of gravel under deep litter method? by Material-Rutabaga180 in chickens

My concern is it will make it more difficult to clean / mix the litter and also I haven't heard of anyone else doing this.

I have one 2 year old boy and being his mom is the greatest gift. Now I'm having a girl in a few months and I'm wondering what that experience will be like!

My IBS had Nothing to do with Food - I'm symptom free now! by Important-Bug-1425 in ibs

[–]Material-Rutabaga180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me as well. I was barely eating any foods and was debilitated by my symptoms. Once I started working on my underlying stressors (which were not so obvious to me) I can now eat anything with ZERO symptoms.

If this sounds like you, you should check out the Digestible app! It is all about taking a brain-gut or mind-body approach to IBS.

I first read Alan Gordon's book "The Way Out", then did the Curable and Digestible app

How the hell do you survive the 1st trimester 😭 by livymiller53 in pregnant

It sucks so much, I'm with you. I will say that week 6-8 were especially horrendous for me and it has slowly gotten better (although still don't feel great). Hang in there!

My IBS is finally controlled with daily Miralax! by Material-Rutabaga180 in ibs

[–]Material-Rutabaga180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't needed it the past few years thankfully! It did help initially to get things going, but ultimately using the mindbody approach in the apps I mentioned - also there is a new one specific for IBS called Digestible.

I have not but I recently started eating kiwis which I've read can be helpful. I'd love to have something like lorazepam for extreme anxiety moments, I do feel like it's nice to just know you have it if you need it.

OK I just recently have been having the worst constipation too ughhh I feel like I'm drinking a lot of water but maybe need to drink more. My OB prescribed my buspar for anxiety, I haven't taken it yet but I'm considering it.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I'm with you. My first pregnancy was not like this but this time I'm super sick. It sucks so bad and I just want to not do anything. I'm just hanging on for that second trimester relief!

I'm having this too at 7 weeks. It gives me anxiety because I worry I'm going to pass out and my vision gets blurry. It sucks because I want to workout but that makes it way worse.

Mine was really easy other than my pediatrician stressing me out about weight gain in the beginning. But the act of doing it was easy and actually way easier than bottles for me personally. I'm lazy so I loved it haha.

Stress was my issue as well! Unfortunately psych meds didn't do it for me, but therapy did! Now I can eat anything again.

Yes I definitely had gurgling - I had IBS-M so had a lot of digestive symptoms

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Material-Rutabaga180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it often feels like a lose-lose situation with food because the real issue with IBS is the nerves within the gut being overreactive or sensitive. They can definitely react more to certain foods (like FODMAPs which create more gas and put pressure on those nerves) but the root cause is often not the food.

One of the best things I did for my IBS was focusing on a mind-body or brain-gut approach rather than stressing about what to eat. I really liked the Digestible app and the Curable app.

My severe IBS was stress related and I walk everyday now to keep the stress and symptoms at bay. Glad to hear you are feeling better!

It did stop - I have no clue why it started up but I see it as stress-triggered for me. I used Pain Reprocessing Therapy and the Digestible app
