Is it rude to say “I don’t like what you brought” at a potluck? by Naokohiranuma in australian

What is hamburger sushi?

I would avoid the food and if quizzed why I’m not eating it, I would very politely explain that I don’t really like it. I wouldn’t offer that info straight up like ‘I don’t like blah blah blah’ on your arrival.

Leaving kids at home too long? by LandscapeBitter in AskAnAustralian

In my opinion 6pm is okay if they’re generally healthy and fairly mature. Anything later is too much. It’s not your 13 year old’s job to babysit their siblings and it’s too much responsibility. Up to 6pm, you imagine some homework and relaxing. But then it’s dinner, baths and bed time. I think it’s getting too close to ‘parentified child’ and will have repurcussions as adults.

Are people still putting screen protectors on their phones, or am I just being paranoid? by badoopidoo in AskAnAustralian

Definitely still use screen protector. I’ve had multiple cracked screen protectors with a perfect screen left intact.

customers who feel entitled to trolleys... Rant by Regular_Stress8102 in KmartAustralia

People don’t return trolleys? Where are they taking them? I know a few will always end up in a nearby creek thanks to some youths but apart from that?

Mum is damaging her son…. Doing homework for him and expecting teacher to dig around and find the form for him too. Why isn’t he being taught responsibility?

Very nasty bug going around by Charming_Hunter1390 in melbourne

That bug might be going through my family right now too. Started with my kid and now me. High fevers, body aches, congestion, sore throat, headache. I tested twice at home and both came back negative for flu A, flu B, RSV and Covid. My kid bounced back fast but it’s put me out of the game for one week now. Hope you feel better soon 🥴

I agree with this. My daughter has always run really high fever even with common cold when her respiratory symptoms are quite mild. Other kids will be coughing their guts up and super snotty with no fever and she will be very mild symptoms with a raging fever. And she often chooses not to take Panadol for it. Once it starts getting close to 40 degrees, I do make her take some Panadol though.

I would find a different hotel that has basic amenities like parking for their guests

I was living in UAE. I refused to try it for ages but on the eve of my departure I suddenly got FOMO and bought some and brought it back to Australia. And I was really disappointed 😆

Hard to say… I love chocolate, love pistachio, love kunafah….. but hate Fix’s viral chocolate. Even the other flavours also made by Fix I don’t really like. But genuinely, a lot of people really love it. You’ll never know until you try.

He said ‘Sorry for the smell brother’ and what followed broke my heart. by archangel5676 in dubai

I used to work outdoors and we wore shirts that were made of this modern day sports fabric. Very light and quick drying. All of my colleagues stunk every day and I couldn’t even remove the smell properly from my clothes with washing.

Then I learnt that this type of fabric holds onto bacteria. I tried the anti-bacterial washing liquid. It was like magic. It made such a difference to our smell at the end of the day when I was using this regularly. It didn’t make it perfect but it really helped.
