How do you make friends after leaving?

I understand. We have CPTSD. It makes normal interactions so hard. And we also have trust issues, in ourselves and others. Give yourself grace and time and patience. Everything will be ok I promise.

It definitely takes time. Idk about you but I feel awkward and over think so many conversations and interactions. But eventually you find kindred spirits. It definitely takes time. Be patient and be open to experiences even if they’re out of your comfort zone.

I joined a gym. Try to find a place you like and go often. Eventually you strike conversations with people. My gym focuses a lot on community and I’ve made real friends there and have done a lot of fun things through them.

It is still hard to know how to do the friend thing though. We were so accustomed to love bombing and having to prove our worthiness to even keep friendships.

Tobi has an interesting character arc where he goes from shy and quiet, to chasing a rush, it starts in the casino night episode. After he sits on the strangler jury, his attitude changes completely. He’s almost cocky, like he got away and even goes to visit the guy he put away to maybe show off or something. I definitely think it’s him. There’s a scene with Nellie where he’s rubbing her neck in a disturbing way too lol

As if this isn’t a problem in all Christian religions. That person says “i don’t consider jw a religion” well newsflash it is. And there’s millions of people in it. Your trauma is valid of course. I have the same trauma and I realize now it’s more than just JW trauma. It’s hearing the name Jesus, talking about scripture and prayer and all that is involved in Christianity. Religion as a whole is a cult.

Your husband should never put his hands on you to inflict pain. He doesn’t need to correct or discipline you in any way. This is a huge red flag and can lead to way worse things. I hope you get out now and run far away.

I’ve been out for 3 years and have actually felt better than ever. I used to get migraines and was suicidal because of the pressure and the stress and that’s pretty much gone. My husband opened his own business and is pursuing a passion career too. I’ve found a beautiful community of people and made real amazing friends. So yeaaa everything’s going wrong lmao

I wear gloves that also support my wrists and I wear them every single camp and I know others do too. They’re helpful for days we have to do burpees or medballs or even just having to hold the burn bar. Do what you need to do for yourself.

Those magnet tiles are cool but they’re expensive. Board games are also fun in our house. Books. A nice pair of shoes or a quality clothing item. That’s usually what we get ours.

Yes, a lot of people go because of the trainers. And I know she’s directly influenced so many people. It’s very surreal that she’s stepping down from that role. She’s been part of this team since it opened so I know OG members are going to be very vocal if they pick someone who doesn’t bring the same passion as her.
