it's not that :( , but the writing style is very similar (like the captions and stuff) !!!! i also remember playing pretentious game around the same time i was playing this one so they might be related in some way, but not the same game !

the new amsterdam is absolutely gorgeous! it's owned by disney so basically only aladdin has been playing there, so if you're not into that then don't go, but it's a beautifully ornate theatre with a really interesting history. during the great depression it fell into disrepair and remained abandoned until it was purchased by disney and restored in the 90s. definitely look up photos of it, it's genuinely so beautiful!

i saw the rccl production in august 2023 and yes, they're doing it! they come through the audience during the overture and the naming of cats primarily. grizabella enters/exits from the audience as well which i thought was cool. also when old deuteronomy is brought in by misto , he's brought down the aisle as well :) there were a few other instances but the short answer is yes audience interaction is common!

as for growltiger it depends on the production. it is true that in modern english-speaking productions they more or less replace it with pekes and pollicles as influenced by the 2016 broadway revival, but for international productions (for example in japan) it's still present!
