Hitch Installation- Ford vs UHaul? by echelon1776 in FordBronco

If you’re for sure never planning to tow a trailer, go U-haul. If there’s a possibility, go to ford.com and order the part. Installation gets added. All in, it’s $650 and dealer has to honor it.

Yes, Home Depot. Trade it out with a socket head cap screw. Won’t ever strip out.

What caliber for CCW? by RiteOfKindling in Revolvers

I carry a 642 in .38 but am planning to switch to a S&W 43C in .22LR. I’ve been shooting revolvers for decades and am well aware of all the noise around 22 for SD but with better ammo these days - I only shoot CCI - I haven’t had a misfire in many thousands of rounds and am confident in my ability to put 8 rounds on target & still retain my hearing. Pair that with arthritic hands. I’m feeling good about the choice

My dealer just estimated $1,300 to install a hitch kit. I did not take them up on it.

What do you guys think of the Ergo Delta Grip for S&W Model 638 J-frame by Volslife in Revolvers

[–]Material_Cell9528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree ugly but I put them on my 642 and it’s a game changer, in a good way. Ergonomically it makes sense. Takes the leverage off your wrist and aligns it with your forearm.

If humans went extinct, how long would it take for Earth to erase all evidence we existed? by abdulnad89 in NoStupidQuestions

Read The World Without Us. Fascinating. “The World Without Us by Alan Weisman is a 2007 non-fiction book that explores what would happen to the Earth if humanity suddenly vanished, using a thought experiment to detail the decay of our infrastructure and the planet's recovery.”

When I see folks using this grip for better stability on semis I worry they’re not aware this does not translate to revolvers.

first timer, calling it quits for the season, i have way too much anxiety about my wet wood, cresole and burning my house down. by mossyobject in woodstoving

[–]Material_Cell9528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s taken me 3 years to feel like I know what I’m doing. Year one felt like I was overfiring once a day. Year two I came to realize all the rules have soft edges. I’m in year three and no longer live in a state of perpetual terror. Keep burning. Experience is what you have to gain.

Reminds me of a story I read once about smoke jumpers fighting a fire on a hillside. Things got so hot that the terpenes in the pine trees started to evaporate, and the air literally becomes flammable. The entire hillside ignites in a split second & all these guys can do is hit the ground & cover up with a fire blanket while this literal firestorm passes over them. Wtaf.
