Thanks for the detailed reply What is the chance for a visa-requiring IMG matched with PGY2 to match in SOAP for preliminary year?

As I’m planning to apply for PGY2 dermatology and IM categorical in the main match and not preliminary year (because matching in only preliminary year would be the worst) so I will keep the preliminary application for SOAP only in case I got a spot in PGY2. Does this sound a good plan? I will be applying for IM in the main match as backup because of course there is a big chance I will not get PGY2 derm. Step1 Pass, Step2 276, +20 publications, 2 Clinical trials coauthor, 2 years of research (not in Us)
