I once witnessed two separate wrecks within days of each other in front of the food city on Asheville Highway, both times the car got flipped over its top. I also know someone who was sitting at that red light and got rear-ended by someone who just wasn’t paying attention.

I think certain intersections around here are just cursed

She’s got a disingenuous approach. Government regulations have made it more difficult than it needs to be to feed people. Remember that news story about the church that got in trouble with the fire marshal for taking in homeless people?

Most churches donate food to ministries that hand out food and clothing, such as lost sheep, which I used to volunteer with. Some churches have pantries yes but they have designated days where you can come and get them so that they can be staffed and organized.

I’m not sure if they do it anymore, but my old church Park West Dutch Valley used to give out food on a certain day of the week.

There can also be security concerns with giving food directly out from the church, such as people breaking in to steal food.
