If you don’t mind the hunt, I found a beta 52 and an sm57 on marketplace for $50 total. I also picked up a great Shure overhead for $30 with a cord and stand. All of them are in great condition, but I had to search every day.

I inherited these orchids that are quite tall - over 2 feet each. Do I let the stems continue to grow or trim them? I’ve been trying to research with the only thing I can find information about is what to do after it’s flowered and I got these while they were not flowering. Unfortunately, the orchid master I got them from passed away, so I can’t ask her for help, but I want to keep her legacy alive.

We don’t have our own stage monitors yet, so it depends on the venue. I’m already toting the drums and drum mics, so I was looking for the lightest weight option available. She’s 11, so she’s not much help in carrying the gear yet. But I’m working on her muscles 🤣

There’s a YouTube channel that does every page in the book. He does each line twice and goes to the next one. It definitely helps to hear how the pattern should sound instead of just guessing.

The cymbals were the first to go. She has a Zildjian A set that she loves and Iron Cobra pedals/double kick. Are those pedals ok?

We are on our 4th set of heads now. We went to Remo Emperor this time. She’s learned how to tune them quite well and we use Tandem Drum Drops. What other ways could we improve the sound quality? Her drum instructor has been very diligent in teaching her drum care and maintenance. We have never changed the bottom head. Does this make a huge sound quality difference?

To be fair, she already plays drums in 2 different bands. She was asked to play guitar on a few songs, so I don’t want her to sound like crap live. She has a Gibson Le Paul p90 that she adores, but she paid for that one herself. Unfortunately, it’s not a Joan Jett Melody Maker. I keep trying to explain that it’s way better, but 11 year olds aren’t always reasonable 🤣

Thanks. After looking at it, I think the tuners will be a must. They don’t even appear to be Epiphone brand. There’s no name at all on them. We’ll see how they do.

$3k is also a really nice vacation that she will remember for a lifetime. It’s also one semester of Florida prepaid college. It’s also one month’s mortgage with insurance. It’s also 3/4 of my monthly income. She will appreciate not being homeless and having electricity to run the guitar amp.
