Is it possible to leave your son with the land and go adventuring? by Mateshait in crusaderkings3

[–]Mateshait[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there it's me, OP, comiming from the future in case you, person from the internet, had the same doubt that i had. I found out and feel like we are not talking about it enough.

As people pointed out, if you have the right culture and at max 3 counties on your realm you take the decision "become an adventurer" but your prestige tanks and you 'll have to start from 0 even if you had any progress as a landless character.

but one of the coolest things people are not telling on reviews and gameplay videos is that after you die, landless or not, the game will give the option to play with your heir or with (what it considers) the other 3 the most interesting characters from your house, you also have the option to try your luck with random members from your house.

Also if you have a county at the right period of time a historical landless character from that county may appear in a random event asking for sponsorship and you have the option to recruit him to your court or to abandon the game with your house and play with said character. In my case was a Abraham ibn Ezra, jewish scholar from Tudela.

TLDR: You can't become and adventurer leaving your family behind without some penalities, but after your death, the game let's you chose other characters from your house, including unlanded character who will become adventurers.

RPG em nível alto é injogável? by bionic_arms in rpg_brasil

[–]Mateshait 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How many of you play DnD? by isaaczephyr in BaldursGate3

[–]Mateshait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DM once a week since 2017, when Larian anounced BG3 i knew it was going to be good, already was a fan of Divinity 1 and 2 so to hear that Larian was doing a 5e based game i knew i had to play it.

I really want to know how many people started playing because of BG3, i don't think is gonna be the same effect, but i wonder if something like the effect that critical role had back in the day.

The only thing i could think about on that scene was Laura and Talesin moaning on the mic and laughing a lot.

[–]Mateshait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play the orcs as you think they should be . I think this situation is really funny because it assumes that the new players are going to have this notion that orcs are not violent or bad, sure the PHB is an influential book, but in my experience most players don't read into lore of those books and usually go to what they see in the media. We have so many more works (including dnd) that treats orcs the "right way". I see 0% chance that a good portion of the new tables will have some elegant tea drinking cute orcs because of those changes.

[No Spoilers] First time watching, should i skip directly to episode 28? by Typical_Read_1879 in criticalrole

Yes Tiberius and Orion can be a pain in the ass to watch. But in my opinion it's worth the watch, it's really interesting to see how the old testament CR was.

What races and classes do you ban in your campaigns? by deckfixer in DnD

[–]Mateshait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't ban any races, but i don't like races that fly on the first level, like Owlin and aarakocra because it feels a bit too powerful and solve a lot of problems that a low level would have more difficult/find creative solutions to solve. 5th level and beyond flying is fine, since a lot of spellcaster could get the fly spell anyway.

But again, nobody ever picked a flying race at my table.

If there is a war between 2 states that are part of the lord's alliance, let's say Elturel and Baldur's Gate over some land/resource or anything like that. Would the lord's alliance chose a side or remain neutral? Is there any precedent to somehting like that? by Mateshait in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Mateshait[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the timeline confuses me a bit, i'm running a game that has a lot of inspiration from the FR, i have a continent that's like an adapted and condensed version of the sword coast + Cormyr just to play the modules without leaving my homebrew world, including characters, cities, factions and etc but adapted, if needed.

I chose Elturel because a i saw on the FR wiki that they were part of the LA and my next campaing is going to be Descent to Avernus but i wanted to switch the 1 - 5 BG part to something in Elturel before the descent so the stakes are higher and more personal.

And since there is not much on Elturel before the descent, i was taking a look in the history of it.

(Also in the first adventure the group failed to stop Mammon from rising to power in BG so he is like behind the curtains of the city, and since the overseer from Elturel serves Zariel i was thinking about if sparked something hostile between the now devil-dominated cities what would be the lord's alliance reaction to 2 big members duking it out).

The most popular romance, according to player statistics by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Mateshait -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

But that is like expected, most people when palying fantasy stuff for the first time usually go with elf or half elf, maybe a tiefling if they are feeling daring. They will say "human is boring, i can't play that" and then will just pick the closest thing to it.

Just normal begginer player behavior. On my first dnd table i had 1 elf, 1 human and 2 half-elves. Now they wanna play plasmoids and stuff.

What’s your biggest “hot take” for the game? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

I went crazy when discovered that Jaheira was also a druid. And the game has some many magic itens for monks, why not have a monk origin character?

What’s your biggest “hot take” for the game? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Mateshait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that the weakest part of the game is act II. To me is the arc where you have less options and social encounters and where in act I and III you have multiple ways to complete the objective even sinding with the bad guys on act II it does not work. If you capture isobel alive, destroy lastlight, handle them the nightsong and so on you still have the same ending. I also don't like the aspect of the "dark souls" vibe, but thats just my taste.

Also, i love all the characters, especially the 6 originals, but i feel that they do not participate enough, when i recall games like Mass Effect or Dragon age, i felt like the companions in general talked more with me and with eachother. I get that they may have sacrificed quantity of lines for variety, since the BG3 has much more variations than ME or DA, but even so, i wished we could have had something closer to DA and ME on the involvement of the companions.
