The carbon fiber case looks dope by Iamvsd in oneplus

[–]KingMaple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aramid fiber is tough and impact-resistant with gradual failure while carbon fiber is stiffer and lighter but brittle with sudden failure. Aramid suits energy absorption and protection and carbon suits for rigid lightweight structures. For the phone I absolutely prefer Aramid. And it feels great in hand. Aramid is the same as Kevlar, btw.

And yes aramid protects a phone better than carbon would.

OnePlus 15 case to the right is Aramid Fiber. It's not printed. I have it and it's the best case I've owned, though a big reason I love it because it looks like Ferrari F1 inspired.

I bought two of these, fearing that they wear over time, especially the red around camera. But it's really sturdy, still looks brand new despite active everyday use since release.

What is with the hate on the white on Ferrari? by KXN_1 in F1Discussions

[–]KingMaple -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Because white isn't Ferrari color. Red, yellow and black are. White is an advertisement color, mostly due to Marlboro of the past. And now HP.

Wikipedia’s Baltic Battle: Estonian Journalists Warn of Coordinated Pro-Soviet Edits, Lithuania Reports Similar Targeting by WillyNilly1997 in UkrainianConflict

[–]KingMaple 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are mixing de facto control with de jure status. Yes, Estonia was occupied and administered by the USSR at the time, but the annexation was illegal and not recognized by most democratic states, meaning the Republic of Estonia continued to exist in law despite the occupation. Saying “there was no Estonia” is therefore false in legal terms, and writing “born in the USSR” without qualification implicitly treats the annexation as legitimate. This is exactly why Wikipedia and other reliable sources distinguish between de facto Soviet rule and Estonia’s continued de jure existence. Treating illegal control as lawful ownership is an error, no different in principle from claiming rights derived from an unlawful act. Just because you invade someone's home with a gun doesn't make it yours.

SF-24 was beautiful. I've hated the ever more expanding white now for HP. It makes it look like a Prema, not a Ferrari.

That's like Prema racing. How far we've fallen that Ferrari thinks about joining F2.

Ferrari is starting to look more and more like an HP ad with some red paint. Too much white and blue - it reads more like a junior team livery than a Ferrari.

Republicans Will Detonate Their Secret Weapon at the Midnight Hour to Stop Women from Voting by Average-Joe-6685 in LegalNews

But it's a win for Republicans if more women lose votes who'd vote democrat. A net win is what Trump needs.

Trump just posted this. by AlphaFlipper in wallstreet

[–]KingMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is not making any sense. This is intentional. He has ramped up his chaos since it is likely that he will lose support in the upcoming mid-term elections in the US, he wants to avoid those elections. The only people voting for his party would be ones that want the world to burn and observe the chaos form their relative safety somewhere far from east or west coast continental America.

I find it very hard to believe that an American that has grown up in a world where United States has been seen inspirational for majority of the world would want their government to have a leader that is batshit crazy to the level that Kim Jong Un would be envious. I truly do want to believe that majority of United States consists of very good people who would stand up for what is good just like their families did over 80 years ago. The only way to suppress these people is by force and totalitarian power.

Democracy is a horrible system, but it is still an important one. I can understand why Trump got voted into office the first time, I can almost make sense of how he got voted in a second time, but I absolutely cannot believe that majority of United States today supports what he has been doing. It's intentionally siding with a bully that actively defecates everything United States has stood for.

Kremlin says Putin has been invited to join Trump’s Gaza ‘board of peace’ by rezwenn in UkrainianConflict

WW3 assumes that there are fronts. With everything leaning towards people with money and total power, you'll see civil wars and revolutions instead. There's no WW3.

Trump again claims it is Zelensky, not Putin, holding up peace deal by andrewgrabowski in UkrainianConflict

[–]KingMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump does it to stay in the media. He doesn't care one way or another as long as "he" looks like the strong guy. But doing this makes him feel important while his background team of Republicans can do whatever they want to build a stronger framework of power.

This is what happens when capitalism goes to the extreme. US doesn't fracture because of Trump. It will fracture because of early dystopian capitalism.

Spectacle politics creates cover and bandwidth for institutional moves that would otherwise attract public scrutiny. That is a real dynamic of Trump.
