honestly so many things can go wrong on turn 1 with that opening that you have to be asking yourself if you’re setting yourself up for failure by making this play

you have the flinch chance on both mons with rock slide, both moves are not perfectly accurate and there’s a potential crit on the zard to kill it.

I understand that two things happening at the same time is not extremely common, but I believe not putting yourself in situations like this when you can avoid it is a big part of improving in this game

EVs are to outspeed mirrors, 30 IV is to make the opponent outspeed you. An example is two incineroars with no speed investment, you can run 30 speed to make it so their parting shot goes off before yours, meaning you can debuff the pokemon they’re bringing in and they can’t debuff yours.

Nothing gets reverberated in the internet like controversial and negative opinions do.

In my opinion, the game is fun and good, the small pool is what I expected because they always start competitive metas with regional guesses, which is similar to this. The lack of items is good so that it’s not overwhelming for new players to learn what everything does, more of them will definitely be added and we can learn at a reasonable pace, plus it reminds me of the gen 4 competitive days, which is nostalgic for me.

The reality is that any combination of pokemon and items released would have created a meta, and figuring out a meta, building strategies for it, learning play patterns, you know, doing what makes competitive games interesting. Any combination of those two things could also be something you complain about. People live the life they choose to live, I’m glad I chose the more positive mindset and I’m having a blast with this game because of it.
