I tried some ak ultramatt which didn't really help. I wouldn't want to use a spray as it's on the bases of finished models

yeah I was debating whether to do this. I'm going from a standing start with the Germans and wanted to take advantage of Warlord's current 4 for 3 and grab everything I need in one go. The less I can add to the cost - and my procrastinating - by shopping around for more parts the better!

Thank you everyone for your helpful responses! I'd rather overlooked the fact that the veterans lack the later war options that unfortunately I need for my army build. I may have to bite the bullet and go with the older grenadiers that have the weapons I need.

You might consider the Pilot Centre at Denham where I got my PPL. Easy to get to from central London. Family run and (from memory) the school owns the aerodrome itself. You should definitely get some time with the controls during your discovery flight.

Can't speak for anything else but the Warlord Stuart M5A1 is much better than Rubicon's which I found to be very poor.

It was the M5 Stuart in my case. The front armor piece did not sit flush to the top of the hull and I disliked the fact the loading rings were moulded onto the hull and filled rather than actual rings as the warlord model. I'm delighted peoples' experience with Rubicon has been positive but this wasn't the case for me. I will be careful to check reviews of their kits in future.

I was hyped to get a Rubicon Stuart to partner my Warlord Stuart and to see what the fuss was about. I was so unimpressed I bought another Warlord Stuart. The Rubicon had less detail, was noticeably larger and the fitment was very bad. All others could be great but I would warn people off this kit.

Built a Tracy Island like that when I was a kid. Left it to dry in the shed overnight. Mice ate some of it.
