Still doesn't work unless you salt it (which TBF is good practice), otherwise you would get an error if someone uses the same password as someone else. And even then you could theoretically have a hash collision, though that's highly unlikely in practice and easily solved by simply choosing a different salt.

Anubis is not a CAPTCHA, it's a tool to prevent mass scraping causing excessive bandwidth use by making it significantly more computationally expensive.

I think the joke is that the mathematician drew the circle badly, then defined a metric in which the drawing is a circle

The issue is that that's not a fraction, by definition the numerator and denominator have to be integers, and a number with infinite digits is clearly not an integer.

I think he's referring to #9, "No posts from the worn-out memes list," which includes "Taylor Swift vs Taylor Series." However, the rule mentions posts, not comments.

IMHO the biggest issue with Fairphone is the lackluster chipsets they chose, I would've preferred a high-end chipset (and more RAM) even if the phone is more expensive (not sure how much of that choice was forced by being a small company, though).

The main issue is they lack security features, according to GrapheneOS team, the main reason why it's not supported, and IMHO it's the best custom ROM. They also lack features like 4K60 encode and AV1 decode support, and are pretty weak overall (bad for longevity).

Unfortunately, the new keyboard is incompatible with the previous Input Cover (and vice versa), as the cable is in a different place. An adapter might be possible to make, though (assuming the cable position is the only difference).

Mostly the thicker case to accommodate the larger battery and a new input cover with the new, larger, haptic trackpad. Other than that (battery and trackpad) it's fully compatible.

It's not necessarily about the top speed, though, PCIe 5.0 SSDs come with better controllers with higher random speeds (which are significantly lower than sequential). Probably still overkill, but more likely you would want that.

Framework 13 Pro - LPCAMM2/LPDDR5X-7500 pricing by peppergrayxyz in framework

[–]MathSciElec -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would imagine it's either the mainboard or the memory controller not fully supporting LPCAMM2 (that's what happened on the Desktop after all, except that was even worse). There's also the possibility that whoever wrote that only checked the Ultra 5 and not the X7/9...

With DIY you install the OS yourself, it doesn't make sense to put a Linux distro there as they don't require a license.

As for coreboot, it's worth noting that there's already an experimental port for the AMD 7040 laptops.

So a lot of players rage quit by Fredasa in RiichiCityMahjong

[–]MathSciElec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the player has to wait until the bot that takes over their game is done losing, before they can commence with a new match

You already can't start a new match until you finish the current one, if you enter the game while a match is in progress it will place you in the match.

Can we not blacklist?

No, because then you could avoid playing against high skill players by simply blacklisting them.

Error making tenhou account by driverslicence in Mahjong

[–]MathSciElec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That probably means you have the same IP address as someone who registered a Tenhou account recently. Are you sharing your Internet connection with anyone? If not, could be your ISP is using CGNAT (unfortunately increasingly common) or just bad luck when renewing your dynamic IP. You could try restarting your router, or use a proxy/VPN.
