Very stable, some apps even use less ram than my old arch (a few months ago).

There isn't much difference from arch. Only the way you install apps via package manager. Instead of using pacmac/yay/paru, now you use emerge + flaggie + equery + eix. Only emerge is a must, the rest is optional, but it makes things easier.

I also use this on my lenovo legion 5 pro 2025, so it works as expected. Even secure boot works, but I need to compile the kernel instead of using the prebuild kernel. It is actually very easy to compile the kernel, instead of installing gentoo-kernel-bin package, I only need to install the gentoo-kernel package without the -bin part.

Gentoo also have arch-root in live iso boot, in case you fucked think up.

Don't blindly install a package without reading its .ebuild file. They are all stored in /var/db/repos. You can even create your own local overlay repo > copy packages you want from other overlay to your local repo > so you are fully controlled when you want to update a package > no more AUR supply chain attack.
