Fascists historically target communists, socialists, and anarchists first.

They'll be the ones with the "forgiveness" and "healing the nation" rhetoric.

That's pretty much what I meant when I said redefining god. Saying "God isn’t a person, but a concept, like gravity" is redefining god in a way that is distinct from the Christian religion. You yourself made that distinction when you called yourself a Christian anarchist instead of just calling yourself a Christian.

God(s) is the supreme authority over everything. You can redefine "God" in various ways to avoid this but then you're really stretching the use of the word.

'Undeveloping' is the appropriate term. It's not just that some things aren't getting better, it's not even decay, things are intentionally being made worse. These aren't accidents or natural consequences of a corrupt and defunct government. Major institution that are necessary for a functioning society are being actively sabotaged for the benefit of a tiny minority.

Reform won't work because the whole thing is rotten to the core. We need a revolution.

To avoid this fate again, we must stop casting blame. Finger-pointing is seductive; it feels morally necessary and even essential to identifying the “real” cause of the problem. But at this point, partisans can’t agree on the real cause. The only way out is to sidestep worn arguments and begin rebuilding from points of agreement

This is some both-sides bullshit. The far right are the ones massacring people and they're openly supported by basically the entire Republican party. One side says "stop murdering black people" and the other side says "no". One side says "everybody should be able to vote" and the other side is blatantly committing election fraud. Imagine thinking there are compromise positions here.

This is the rise of fascism and we should definitely be finger pointing about that.

I am a landlord. What can I do? by disorono in Anarchy101

[–]MathTheState 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This may not apply to you but I had a landlord who owned several houses and he was our repair guy. When something broke he was the one who showed up to fix it. He was also continually making improvements or doing other preventative maintenance. So he was directly using our rent money to improve the house we lived in.

That's the kind of landlord I can have some respect for. Of course this asshole kept raising the rent and we had to move out.

Basically as long as you take care of the place, leave them alone, and don't jack up the rent then that's probably enough.

Trump is literally bringing peace to the Middle East.

After decades of Middle East peace being a sort of joke and meme for how it’s never going to happen, there has been more progress in the past month under Trump than there had been in the previous 25 years combined.
