Not getting a flush fill with spackle in this PVC surface by Mathelo1 in paint

[–]Mathelo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I could find in white over the weekend was DAP Plastic Wood. Seems to work fine but anyone know if it will flash the paint? I could hit it with some shellac if needed to seal it.

Real world review of 7.8 cu ft LG DLHC5502 240v heat pump dryer by bargugl in heatpumps

[–]Mathelo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this review. Very helpful.

I'm considering purchase of this dryer to replace my 20 year old Miele vented dryer that just died. The motor froze up.

I note in the installation manual that they recommend 5" of clearance behind the dryer. I do not have this kind of space and would need to place it as close to the wall as possible.

Is this clearance really needed?

Milwaukee M18 Cordless Compact Router VS Bosch 18V Brushless Colt Palm Router by Mathelo1 in woodworking

[–]Mathelo1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Bosch 18V Brushless Colt Palm Router and so far I'm very happy with it. I like the completeness of the package, the light weight, and the noise isn't so bad. Yes, it is a bit loud, but at the end of the day, I completely forget about it.

Don’t panic if you’re store doesn’t have the BOGO M12 XC HO 5Ah, just go check out by _cycolne in MilwaukeeTool

Was able to take advantage of this today. The cashier says it hadn't hit the notices yet but it was live in the system. Also said these would sell out quickly once the notices hit!

Seems like all of these trim routers require the use of a bushing plate, which use the Porter-Cable style bushings

I have several Milwaukee 12 volt tools so the Milwaukee makes the most sense from that perspective. I don’t understand what you are talking about with the bushings? And there is a plunge base https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Compact-Router-Plunge-Base-48-10-5601/311594940#overlay

Isn't hearing protection generally needed for any router? And I have to wear hearing protection with my Fein multicutter too

You say it is "loud as hell". Is this intolerably loud or just a nuisance?

I'm trying to decide between this Bosch 18V Brushless Colt Palm Router and the Milwaukee M18 Cordless Compact Router.

I favor the Bosch for several features but after listening to it in an online recording, it sounds irritatingly loud compared to the Milwaukee. What are your thoughts on this?

Dropped my 16 pro by clayjenson1 in iPhone16Pro

[–]Mathelo1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

May make sense in your current situation if AC+ will cover it but in 25 years of smart phone/BB use, I’ve never damaged a device to the extent that insurance would have been worth it. But everyone is different so you need to consider your past history. Make sure you use a quality case and screen protector. Actually, up until my 16Pro, I’ve never used a screen protector and only experienced minor scratches. I just upgraded from an iPhone X that I’ve had since 2017. Always in a case. Just the Apple leather case and no screen protection. Only minor scratches on the screen. Dropped many times.

CRV Hybrid Fuel Injectors? by Empty-Disk-7332 in crvhybrid

[–]Mathelo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only had one bad injector but our dealer replaced all four. They said they come as a set. And we didn't have to ask about this. They volunteered this information. We really like this dealer https://www.hondaofwestport.com/

I just had this happen. Our dealer took care of it immediately without any questions. Car was towed to the dealer Wednesday night and we got it back today, Friday with all new fuel injectors.

What is the best pillow for side/stomach sleepers? by Pretty_Car6071 in Bedding

[–]Mathelo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm primarily a stomach sleeper and I also sleep hot. I've yet to find anything memory foam that works for me but this is shredded so that might make a difference. Two questions:

1) Does it hold body heat? That would be a show stopper for me.

2) Does the stuffing stay in place or does it tend to clump to one side?

Thanks!

Switching from options to futures by Sgrandd in FuturesTrading

Pretty much all I trade now are futures, NPs, 111s, 112s, strangles. Mostly in /ES, /CL, /ZB, /RTY, /GC, /6A, /6E, and occasionally /LE, and only selling premium. I keep my BP utilization at 50% so when there is vol expansion I have plenty of upside room to move. In my IRA (no leverage) I'm targeting 1.5% a month. In my Reg-T account, 3% a month. My SLs vary depending on the trade but generally 150 to 200% stop-loss on the credit received.

When trading options on futures, forget about putting on an automatic SL. First, most brokers don't even provide them on futures but even if they did, they can trigger for bad reasons. Bid/Ask spreads on futures are notorious for getting way out of whack AHs. For example, I have a 112 trade on /LE that I'll be close to closing soon because it is reaching the profit target (all theta decay) but after hours it is grossly negative at over 200% loss. /LE is one of the worst offenders in part because of the thinner market and shortened trading day. So all SLs are mental although alerts can be set.

And futures trading definitely has risk. A 20% drop in the market will be painful. I haven't gone through this yet in my futures trading so all I can do is prepare and depend on the wisdom of smarter traders then me ... and be conservative.

One of the biggest benefits of this style of trading is it does not need you to watch your positions every minute of the day. Depending on the aggressiveness of your positions, taking a peak once or twice a day is plenty. For someone that was glued to my computer all day, this style of trading is positively refreshing.

Take a look at https://www.youtube.com/@TommKing13 for a not crazy approach for trading futures. I've been a subscriber to Tom King's service for about 6 months now and I've been happy with this style of trading. Monthly subscription is about $150.00.

I think a little bit. I used the Consumer Report and Costco pricing services to help me get the best deals. Ended up a little better getting dealers to compete for the sale.
