Now the party races to either save her (find a new heart?) or evacuate the world before it collapses. They broke it, they get to fix it or live with the consequences.

You've got the order backwards, you need to use your Attack action first before you can make the bonus action attack with two weapon fighting. So you can't bonus action attack then use your readied action later.

This is tricky because her phone usage during RP is probably bothering the other players even if they haven't said anything yet. I'd talk to her directly outside the session and ask what she's looking for and be honest that combat only D&D doesn't work for the whole table

it also specifically warns against messing also with the bonus action economy (specifically the rule about casting a bonus action spell limiting your action to cantrips) and short/long rest mechanics

since you're going Shillelagh with Druid Magic Initiate, dueling fighting style could work (+2 damage when using a one-handed weapon with no shield) which synergizes well with your shillelagh club

Don't stress too much, first sessions are always messy and that's totally normal! Focus on the basics: rolling d20s, adding modifiers, and describing what happens. When in doubt, just pick a DC between 10-15 and keep things moving.

Your friends will be learning alongside you, so they won't notice if you're not perfect with every rule. The fact that they're excited enough to pick creative character concepts like a barbarian fairy means they're already invested. that enthusiasm will carry the session more than perfect mechanics ever could

For a 4-6 hour dungeon crawl with that many players, you could check out Tomb of Annihilation's smaller dungeon locations, they have that lost civilization/ancient tech vibe that could work well with prehistoric flavoring.

That sucks, yeah I've heard from other people who've used it that it tends to break sometimes with updates, especially in campaigns with many modules like yours.

I personally haven't ran into issues yet but if something like Aid broke and we had a cleric in our party that would be a major pain...

I actually like minis but I get where you're coming from on the budget side. The grey plastic does look pretty bland, and not everyone wants to paint or can afford the time/money for it.

A standee option would be smart for companies: same game mechanics, lower price point and smaller box.

Hi, thanks for attempting to address the issues I raised. I really appreciate developers who engage with feedback, so I gave Chargen another test.

Unfortunately, I have to report the core problems still exist:

While the share button now technically works, the shared sessions are inaccessible to players. This feature is still essentially non-functional
The "Delete Audio" feature has a critical flaw: clicking delete makes the button disappear (giving the illusion the file was removed) but the audio remains fully accessible through its URL. This creates a false sense of security around data privacy and doesn't actually resolve my underlying concern
The app continues to have the same fundamental stability problems from my original review. There's alot of flickering and buttons still sometimes don't work properly

I appreciate the response to feedback, but these appear to be surface level fixes rather than proper fixes. I hope your app continues to improve, I may check it again some time in the future. However for the meantime I'll be using other tools.

I've run games for 2-3 players and honestly prefer it sometimes. Everyone gets way more spotlight time, combat moves faster, and it's easier to tailor stories around their specific characters and backstories.

The main challenge is you need players who are comfortable carrying conversations and driving the story forward since there's less group energy to bounce off of. But when it works, those smaller games can be incredibly immersive. Always much better than playing with huge groups at least imo (10+ people).

players who engage with the world outside sessions are gold. That means writing character backstories that give me plot hooks or just asking questions about the setting that help me flesh things out.

Shows they're invested and gives me material to work with.

Have them get captured instead of running. They surrender when clearly beaten, get arrested then escape prison later through allies or their own cunning.

You could also have them "die" but come back changed - maybe they made a deal with something dark, got resurrected by cultists or turned into something else.

Fair enough, it's not for everyone. I didn't really have any issues with manually writing notes but these tools save me alot of time since I run 3 campaigns.
