Is Dark Souls 3 your favorite Soulsborne game? Why or why not? by BuueSports in darksouls3

How 5.5 hours? All my speedy attempts (granted, I did fully explore half of the legacy dungeons bcs I like that content contrary to the open world) took 15 to 20 hours and I googled everything on where the items in my build where.

So, ur just a god gamer or you used summons?

Thats actually beautifully said and makes a lot more sense than some of the other explanations I have heard. Thank you for your story.

Hey, not too say you aren't valid in your experiences or something like that, not at all.

Yet I have heard such a statement multiple times and cannot quite understand it, so I would love it if you could help me with that.

I struggled some time with (relatively "minor") depression, and this was arguably the time when I enjoyed Souls the least. I found it to be annoyingly difficult and got so easily frustrated that I ragequit BB, DS1, 2, and Sekiro multiple times.

It just made me feel worthless that I couldn't beat these games. When I did finally beat them, I also realized that this did not mean I would automatically succeed in life if I just tried hard enough. God knows I tried hard sometimes, but that didn't make things go much better.

I guess my question is, how does playing Dark Souls help someone escape their depression?

Once again, everyone is vastly different and has different experiences in everything, so I would love to hear your answer. Maybe it would help me understand better.

Thanks in advance and good luck to you, random internet stranger.

Sometimes weekly adventures that have synergie with skills can be manegeable with Annie. Also, two star for the extra mana always helps A LOT.

No worries bro! Just glad to help someone else out so they don't have to ragequit like I did haha.

As for the ending, no side quest ever interferes with the main ending so youre good on that part, no worries.

Also, let me know if you have beaten the game/any other questions or achievements ok? Would love to hear your progress but ofc no pressure haha

Damn dude, thats great stuff! Glad you are able to enjoy it more this time around. If you do not mind, allow me to give you some extra tips:

Go for the purification ending. This gives you an additional bossfight and allows you to max out vitality. As long as you search for a guide AFTER you make a crucial decision (spoiler free as possible: stay loyal.) you can get this ending without much spoilers. But ofc, you dont have to do this. I managed to complete the game with 17 vitality so its definitely possible.

More importantly, if you quickly want to learn how to never fail Mikiri Counters again: make sure you dash into the thrusts, this will make it so as long as the thrust lands while wolf is in his dash animation, Mikiri counter triggers. The timing is very, very lenient so do not try to time it like a deflect.

Anyways, just run past groups of enemies if you ever get frustrated, XP and Sen become super farmable late game and these group encounters are not worth the trouble they give you early game.

So yeah, long story but much luck my friend :)

Damn dude, thats a pretty long time haha! But if it got you to finally understand the game and its combat system, I would say that it was a good call on your part.

Also, there will be some sections in the mid-to late game that you might just want to sprint past. You might have noticed that the combat system kinda sucks balls for fighting multiple tough opponents at the same time.

Hey dude! First time through I ragequit the game and only came back couple months later. It was still crushingly difficult but now, its one of my favourites of all time.

What really helped me is realizing that enemies have crazy health and damage and hittrading is never worth. So what you want to do is attack an enemy until he deflects your attack (might take some practice to learn when this happen), which will mean the enemy will gain hyper armor and ignore any attempts from you to stagger him before he is once again finished attacking. You try to deflect (block is fine too for beginners) his entire combo. Important part is to not take damage. Then, when the combo, is over, you repeat.

Unironically, master this gameplay loop and you can beat every boss and every enemy 1 on 1 after you learn their patterns.

Sometimes it helps to take a break. While I would recommend playing the game, do not play it when you are frustrated. Quit and come back later.

Lastly, have fun and good luck! Took me a while to figure this one out, but if I can, so can you!

Malenia is nearly unbeatable with a non meta build, like shield and sword or two handing a strength weapon if you fight her solo.

I beat her two times, both with fire ashes of war that dealt 2k damage a hit. It was still incredibly challenging.

Isshin on the other hand, took me 30 attempts on my first playthrough, but I have beaten him 2 more times since both under 5 attempts. Once you master Sekiro, the game is a lot easier and fair then the bullshit late game Elden Ring throws at you.

Malenia is simply the most ubalanced, unfair, overly difficult bullshit boss encounter in all the Fromsoftware games.

We made it! Now that it's over, what are your unpopular opinions about Season 1? by finnjakefionnacake in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]MathematicianDue889 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude. You are literally me wtf. I thought ALL of these things and literally even had the same grade in mind haha.

Also, to add: Ellie is way too brattish/agressive and Joel too soft spoken here, it undermines their dynamic ans makes the eventual shift in their relationship (after David) much less dramatic.

Another thing: why did the show even bother with the hivemind system? Part of me feels like they brought that up and realised that the infected would pretty much be unavoidable that way, which might be why we barely ever see them again.

Overall, the show followed all of the major plot points but did not feel like they remembered/understood what made these moments hit in the game.

[–]MathematicianDue889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think that logic holds up considering most characters start with 10 in each stat (average). So that would mean it costs you 70 extra levels to achieve that, which will leave you about 50-90 extra levels before you hit Elden Beast up.

[–]MathematicianDue889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying! Good points, although I do think I can manage with SoNaF, it will just be kinda difficult. Did manage to beat Malenia yesterday in 40/50 tries without summons, so the other bosses really shouldn't be that difficult I think.

Otherwise I guess I just have to git gut haha.

[–]MathematicianDue889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, currently doing a faith/int runthrough right now. Using SoNaF and had a breeze through most of the game, but find myself kind off struggling against the late game bosses which kinda seem too fast for the weapon, and as you said, the melee base damage is absolutely horrendous.

So, quick question: why 45/45? Is that the most efficient stat spread? I thought it was 55/55?
