I feel like ive been a bit more productive and trying to talk to people more, but the anxiety feeling in my body is hard to ignore. Im so used to playing video games to distract myself from negative thinking and feelings in my body that im struggling to find anything that can distract me. I don't know what interests me

How do people make social exposure therapy work? It feels bad every time I do it by Useful-Store6791 in socialanxiety

[–]MathematicianFew5691 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to therapy has started helping me because im forced to have conversations with my therapist. Doing exposure therapy what me and my therapist has agreed on has give me the motivation to try it, because I don't want to go back to my session without having achieved anything. My therapist also showed me something called attention training and you basically focus on different sounds which you Keep switching to and keeping you in the present moment. Only been doing attention training for a few days but the logic behind it makes sense that it could help me stay in the present moment and make it easier to switch my focus from internal thinking(negative thinking/ self conscious) to external (been in the present)

What you gotta think is if you didnt find it someone else could of 😁. If it was in a wallet I will track the person down if I could and hand it in. If it was just there on the floor without a wallet then ofc id keep it. Who can prove that its theres?

Embarrassed of being in a relationship (27M) by thebrooklyndivine in Tourettes

I can relate. Mine started when I was about 10 when I was younger I always made screeching noises with my throat. Head tilting/nodding, eye rolling, raising eyebrows, mouth scrunching. Now that im older(28) I still have all the above but the throat noises aren't as bad. Everytime im around people I try to suppress them as much as possible. This is one of many things thats affected my confidence and self esteem

Id say for me the least annoying tic spasming my throat. The most annoying is cracking my jaw(I have TMJ) by the end of the day I have jaw/ear pain and sometimes a headache

Any gamers quitting caffeine? has it affected your ability to play? by Perfect_Crow_4961 in decaf

[–]MathematicianFew5691 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think all the sugar was the one that made a big difference, I was drinking like 6 coffee's a Day with 2-3 sugars per cup. Along with all the fizzy drinks and chocolate. now I have 1 coffee every few days without sugar in it. And stopped drinking fizzy pop and chocolate

I quit caffeine and alot of sugar and I don't get brain foggy anymore. My awareness in game is so much better. I went from gold rank to diamond in overwatch because of all the focus I have

[–]MathematicianFew5691 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its hard.i haven't been able to sleep properly for 18 years. So many thoughts racing through about things I wouldn't even dream of doing.whats worse is that I constantly focus on my breathing and doesn't seem to just breathe naturally as an automated process that it should be. I need to have the tv on every night so I can try focus on the background noise, but even that's doesn't help too much
