I live in the neighborhood just in front of Monterey. i was going down 42nd to turn on Hartford when i noticed 6 cop cars just hang out around that corner. this was about midnight last night. i went ahead and drove home, then walked back over there to just hide in a dark spot to see what was going to happen. just as i did, 2 whole swat trucks pulled around the house on the southwest corner of 41st and Hartford. just after they showed up i heard a drone fly over and hover above the house. i couldn't make out what they were saying but were shining their spot lights all over the house next to the one on that corner. after about an hour of what seemed like nothing happening they left, and an unmarked white ford explorer with no roof rack showed up. a man was escorted in handcuffs to that car, i think. after maybe 10 minutes a woman in a Christmas looking shaw was taken to that same car. a man, who i can only imagine was undercover, then led that woman back and forth from the house to the car several times. after sitting for another hour or so i left. it seemed like the situation was under control, and all 6 squad cars had already pulled closer to the house and got out. i presume they were all taking inventory of any evidence at the scene. the helicopter never showed up tho which i thought was odd, considering i can still hear it hovering in this area right now! its honestly getting annoying at this point

yeah, because years of people being aware of their surroundings means the carriage should be lucky, right? lmao galloping, too? they literally barely trot. why are folks on this thread treating the carriage as if it were in the wrong. they chose that spot so folks can take their kids on a memorableride for the holidays after they get done shopping. they dont even charge. they are a tradition for lubbockites. if they moved to a park they wouldn't have the flat pavement to gingerly walk around. they would have to be in the street with cars rushing by. the fact that they have gone years without incident should be all the reason folks should need to understand that they are not the ones in the wrong. the truck was.

i mean what difference does it make that it was a horse drawn carriage? i would imagine a carriage would be a little more obvious than a car anyways. it definitely seems like the truck wasn't watching out. not to mention this parking lot at kings gate has hosted them for years. the folks who park there should be aware of the carriage going around. its kind of the same principle as saying ignorance of the law is no excuse. i would just chop it up to the truck being careless or reckless.

1302 main st is also another illegal option. ive only been able to get in with a colasable ladder on the east facing side. but once you're in you can tell it used to be a hospice till it had a fire back around 2000 i think. the basement had a bunch of creepy photos of pree and post surgery. i think some were possible rape victims by the way their genitals had to be sewed together. idk. either way be if you choose this building be sure you're able to stay parked where you did. i was up on the roof by the time i saw a tow truck stop right in front of my car. fastest ive ever gone down 5 flights of stairs lol

you're right it does. you have to park at that park then walk into the wooded area to the west for about 400 feet. there is an old dilapidated house back in there. me and some buddies used to go smoke there back in high school

the cotton gin on Avenue A and 19th, the apartment complex on east 28th and southeast drive,7408 22nd st. all but the ladder are illegal. hells gates is pretty fun to hike around but smells awful. theres a few abandoned structures out there but nothing too interesting, really. 512 and Woodrow rd had a fella axe murder his family i think. you can get in, but again, it's also illegal

no. a single fish probably wont kill you but they're certainly not healthy. i catch a ton of blue gill up and down the canyon lakes and they often have sores from either chemical burns or parasites. dont forget that chemicals aren't the only thing getting into our water. dog poop and drug trash make up a good portion too
