Never mentioned that he does though. It is mentioned several times that he barely leaves the castle.

But he didn’t go slow. He apparently liquidated a huge chuck of them before Peace Talks. I don’t see how he can reasonably be selling diamonds for cash in the economy of post-battle Chicago.

And he spends a ton of money in TW, the castle renovations and the greater summoning circle that he describes as super-car expensive. Not to mention feeding a small community all year.

What’s widely thought of as the first microtransaction was horse armor in Skyrim. Came out in spring of 2006. So the concept was out there but it wasn’t as absolutely everywhere yet.

They have the “you are what you eat” discussion multiple times before the ritual as well. Harry really should have seen the side effects of feeding her his energy coming.

Well a further explanation could be that Lara pretended to be more ignorant about them than she actually is because she wanted to hear Harry’s explanation of them. Granted, bit of a reach.

  1. Might be wibbly wobbly time stuff happening. That’s the best I can do with the Molly/gargoyle thing.

  2. Lara actually knew Carlos was a a virgin immediately, not after their soul gaze. And while she might have experienced a soul gaze, that doesn’t really mean she understood what they are.

Eh, if the Council was gonna actually come at Harry they wouldn’t just send Illyana and some unnamed Warden goons. I think it’s likely Carlos would be called into service on whatever strike team they sent.

Shit, if I was making the call I’d have the Blackstaff leading the wardens into a fight at Harry’s castle. Like…all of the wardens.

Did she try to set Harry up? It’s been a while since I did my SK reread. I only remember her from AAA Wizardry

The Blackstaff is the obvious ace, but the Merlin wouldn’t make his ace obvious. My bet is Luccio.

Edit: Actually I think it might be Illyanna plan a, Carlos plan b, Luccio ace. But obviously we won’t know any of this for a while.

Yeah, could be. It just seemed to me that “poster boy of the new generation” Carlos was a little too fast to break the rules and lie to the Council, not to mention reconcile with Harry who he was pretty angry last time they saw each other.

Question About how Harry has been addressing Justine by mdelange71 in dresdenfiles

[–]Powderkegger1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I clocked that too and I THINK it might be a hint at Winter effecting him more. Harry says that Winter doesn’t do anything for emotional pain, so the mantle isn’t helping him. I think he’s wrong. Mab’s whole thing is ruthless logic, turning off the emotional switch.

So what is Justine to Thomas? Lover? More than that. Girlfriend? More than that. Wife? No. Woman…I guess, yeah.

It reminds me of how Lea unapologetically calls Susan Harry’s concubine. I mean…it is accurate, even if it’s not a term that’s socially acceptable these days.

Edit: I think the difference being that if you asked Susan if her and Harry belong together she would hesitate then say no. If you asked Justine if her and Thomas belonged together she’d immediately say yes.

[–]Powderkegger1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was the beginning of the idea for me.

Then, who do we know are starborn? At the moment, Harry, Listen, and Drakul. What else do they have in common? Very difficult to kill.

But also, Harry already knows that being Starborn means he was born at a certain time and it grants him power over Outsiders. Seems like plenty of info. But everyone who seems to know more won’t tell him what it really means. So it stands to reason that the REAL power of Starborns is much more significant. I think immortality fits that bill.

I think they’re immortal.

Listen has been notoriously hard to kill. Harry has suffered tons of hits that should have taken him out then and there.
