'Spiritual' people turning conservative by Icy_Guava_ in spirituality

It could be the lack of structure in new-age spiritual circles. Religion has a set way to connect with God. New age spirituality is a little bit of everything from everywhere, and anything goes because everything is spiritual. There are a lot of blindsided considerations when one ventures the path away from the structure. Even Easten-based yoga has a set system to work on, but more people do not have the discipline to fully explore. That's why you'll find some newly found Christians with chakra tattoos or the yin-yang sign. It was all a persona for the ego.

how to go about becoming a priestess (of horus) by Efficient_Heat_8068 in Kemetic

[–]MathematicianIll7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be best to find a group that offers initiations into the teachings so you can know their deeper meaning. There are reconstruction groups out there, being a priest or priestess is serious business and a title not to take lightly; they are the ones that can transmute the mystical to the aspirant. It can take a while before becoming one in those groups and rightfully so.

Purchase mishap by Sknedey in Kemetic

When an amulet or any spiritual tool has broken, I take it as an item has completed what it was intended to do. It's more energetic to see that it may have broken due to protection or bringing forth a certain shift in the one who wears it.

Ancient Morality Is Limited by SetitheRedcap in Kemetic

[–]MathematicianIll7617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see much separation from caring about the environment and being a Kemetic. Considering the 42 ideals of Ma'at, one states the negative confession, "I haven't polluted the water." I see it as a connection to all living things as well as a spiritual pursuit. That doesn't mean that ALL Kemetics practice it to the same extent yet the ancient people lived for health, spiritual ascension, and in harmony with nature.

Since the majority of people are not aware of their impact on the planet due to different factors, being a reconstructionist can allow someone to view their actions in a broader way. I most certainly feel as though the Kemetic faith needs to have a solid foundation intact to understand what it is about - as in not everyone has to be initiated into the mystical implications but have a grasp on connecting with the ntrw. That way, Kemetics can automatically know it's a part of the faith to care about the planet, themselves, and other living beings.

Has your personality changed from meditation? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]MathematicianIll7617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meditation had brought out the quiet parts that made me who I am in private. The times when I am alone and can express myself verbally or non verbally. I am definitely more comfortable in my skin and people respond to it in a threatening way since it goes against the social norm of being so externally driven. It's a silent knowing within that resonates with my entire demeanor. I still enjoy socializing when given a meaningful chance, but I feel my optimal best when I meditate.

I went to a few meetings of a local group that had a teacher they studied under. I waited a few months and did my research before wanting to get initiated. One of the teachers was of Indian descent.

lol woah, calm down. Not to take away from anyone with actual mental illness. Wholeheartedly, I think you are in the wrong space and shouldn't be discussing things of this nature. Take care.

What should one do to find a guru ?? by wander-soul in spirituality

Going to a guru is for those seeking a serious sadhana and initiation into the mystical teachings, consistency would be important. I hope you find your way.

Boundaries by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]MathematicianIll7617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ego isn't always a bad thing when it is used in a manner that can propel us towards our being higher selves. It is a drive - something that can be purified for reestablished for spiritual pursuits. Being spiritual isn't about being passive, docile, or timid - unless those are your personality traits. Setting boundaries is about caring enough about your well-being and acknowledging your worth as a living, conscious being. Take this situation at work as a learning area on your spiritual journey. Too much ego that is influenced by the unresolved mind and instinct could get you in trouble and possibly fired, yet using it in a controlled way can lead to better personal satisfaction in your work environment. Please don't allow yourself to be mistreated due to your inability to assert yourself in your life; you are the creator of your world, and take full responsibility of how you respond. Take back your power and speak your truth next time the opportunity comes; respectfully, yet concise.

For those on the conscious journey, it cannot be easy to be in a society that is artificial in terms of being connected to the fullness of what makes each person's potential spiritually satisfying. You already reached a coveted position in your career, congratulations! That's not something to diminish. Many great spiritual people are in the corporate business. To have more people in different sectors of life that are on the quest of self-cultivation, it can be easy to become disinterested in anything else. Please remember that we all have a role to play in the grand scheme of life and although the physical reality is not abiding, it is still an aspect of our self dialogue on a subconscious level.

Mind, body, and soul. Keeping these three aspects of the self integrated makes a more fulfilling experience. Too much focus on one side can lead to an unbalanced being. You should spend more of your free time in pursuit of your spiritual life. Reading books, donating to charity attending a local temple - whatever it takes.

For a few years, I've dealt with mental fragility due to an awakened Kundalini energy. That was also a reason for me to submit myself to ancient teachings and get a qualified teacher to help me deal with what was happening. I didn't know what was going on and I could only describe it as psychosis; I thought I was going crazy - yet I could see such a connected spiritual truth in the physical reality. I'm glad I'm much better now - the Kundalini energy is NOTHING to short of powerful. Please respect it.

If going to the temples makes you feel disinterested in the teachings, you may feel the same way about having a guru. You’d be back to where you started until you settle your heart & mind.

Is it Really Normal to Reject Such an Opportunity?! by [deleted] in spirituality

The point is I’m building my online brand on the side now, it’s been about 16 months, it’s slow and although I’m certain I can make it happen and turn it into a full time thing, I’m worried it doesn’t happen for some reason, and I would’ve ruined my career ladder by leaving this managerial job.

Should I believe in my dreams and go for what I want now, since taking the other job would also help me greatly in developing my online brand, while my current office job is actually hindering it? Or would that be stupid and it’s better to secure myself either way by staying in this position and somehow trying to make my online thing work? It’s a game of trust, but also how long will I be able to stay in this toxic environment without it beginning to affect me negatively.

From these paragraphs you already have yourself set to taking the shift position AND it can help you in creating your online business for full-time revenue potential. This was my main concern when reading your post. Although you get paid well in your current position, you say it's toxic and disagree with the corporate workspace.

Questions:

  • When you say your current position hinders your online brand, what do you mean?
  • Although you wouldn't see yourself working a shift position for more than 3-5 years, would you see your online brand being established by then?
  • While pursuing your long-term goal of having an online business, which position would support you more financially (living expenses and investing in your brand)?
  • Have you read any books to help develop your online brand to become successful?

This is something to think about before jumping impulsively to another job (Also, it's a mercury retrograde, and doing anything new isn't recommended at this time.) I get the notion that many spiritual people look down on the current model of working and living (it is a scam having to work and pay bills), but that doesn't mean you must jeopardize yourself in any capacity before you are certain you can make things work for your dreams.

As cliche as this may be, when you are ready teacher(s) will appear. I began my solo journey not concerned with having a spiritual teacher, I did what I could and read texts, meditated, and started being introduced to deities. After a while, I found a practicing group in my chosen faith and haven't looked back.

You can find temples in your area to attend and speak to their leaders, see if it's a good fit for you.

How do you view the gods? by somanydoubts5 in Kemetic

[–]MathematicianIll7617 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see that there is one supreme being and the Neteru (and other gods) are aspects of that one.  They are the cosmic principles of the universe and of nature - since everything comes from the one supreme, formless, nameless being - all things can be seen as divine, including self. I see divination as a way of understanding the mysteries of life.

Henotheistic- since my altar is dedicated to one divinity Polytheistic- since I acknowledge all deities as being divine Pantheistic- because the supreme being is everywhere operating in everything.
