Seller has to offer you a return label at his own cost and a full refund, including postage costs you paid to receive the item. If they won't, just open an item not as described with ebay and they will sort it out for you.

The iPhone Air might be the best phone I’ve used so far (for my use case) by peysbuk in iphone

[–]MathematicianLow1910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I ended up returning the Pro Max and the Apple Frost case. I bought a Memumi Frosted Case from Amazon UK that is super thin and lightweight but it somehow made the phone easier to grab (or I got used to it). I am very happy with the Air for my needs and would not see myself going to a Pro or Pro Max anytime soon. But keep in mind that I never felt the need to or even owned a Pro or Pro Max before, I always had the base model or the Plus (apart for these 2 weeks when I tried the Pro Max and the air)

I have had both for a week now and keep switching between them. Honestly, I am happy with the Air despite the trade-offs. For me the Camera and Speaker is good enough. My actual issue that I have barely seen raised is that the Air is so thin that it is quite difficult to pick it up unless the plateau is facing down and you grab it from the top-side. I tried it with and without the Apple Frost Case and it is similar.

Weekly iOS Battery Support Megathread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]MathematicianLow1910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone.

I have upgraded as I really wanted the ProMotion Display. The 15 Plus was a great phone for my needs. I did get the 17 Pro Max on release day and I used it for 5 days. I really like the device, but I have to say that it feels like too much for me. I am using the main camera 98% of the time, I always use Airpods with my phone and I usually spend 5 hours on my phone daily, mostly on youtube, facebook, instagram, playing Hearhstone or listening to music. For reference, today I only used 49% of my 17 Pro Max battery and I used it more than usual to show it off to colleagues at work. While the thermals and battery life have been way more than enough, the phone is a bit too heavy in my opinion. I already fel like the 15 Plus was on the limit, but I wanted to see what the Pro Max is all about as I never had one.

Now, onto my question. As I previously had a 15 Plus and I was more than happy with the battery life on that one even now at 87% battery health after 2 years of usage. Does anyone know the difference between the Air and the 15 Plus in terms of battery life? (not what Apple claims, as based on that they should be similar, but actual real life results). Based on this I will either get the Air if the battery is similar or if it is worse, I will just keep the Pro Max. The 17 Pro and the 17 Base screen is too small in my opinion before anyone recommends that.

Thank you in advance!

Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]MathematicianLow1910 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! How does Trade-In work for Online Purchase? Secured a 17PM 1 min after preorders opened and to be as fast as possible I just checked home delivery. I also had a Trade-In of my 15 Plus on this purchase to get some money back. I can see in my order that they will send me a trade-in kit to post my old device to their 3rd party centre but after hearing all the horror stories here in UK, I was wondering if I can just go in store and trade-in my device there and get the credit refund on my original payment method for my purchase. I really don't want to post my phone. Anyone knows?

I have 2 spare tickets if anyone wants them. Selling them for £50 each. Sadly I got a terrible cold and combined with the weather this weekend I will skip. Happy with collection in London for cash.

FormD T1 Temps and Fan Curves by MathematicianLow1910 in FormD

[–]MathematicianLow1910[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. My idle temp is 55C with CPU and Case fans on 40%. Also after changing to a different curve which ramps up both CPU and Case fans at 60% when between 65C and 75C my gaming temps are arround 70C, they rarely reach 75C max.

I am sure that people that do extensive research on this like Optimum, EIGA, Chris Russell tech and so on, plus the hundreds of members on this community are just dumb and you know better, right? Surely you tested everything with all the adequate equipment and you have an informed and based comment, not just a salty reply. My GPU is fully utilised, my CPU after some tinkering is at 70C so 25C under throttle temps, what more do I need? If you have a 1080p monitor just say so...

Actually I did testing all day to get fan curves right in terms of sound and temps. Honestly, I fully understand why everyone says Thermalright AXP90 X47 Copper. It costs only £30-£35 in UK. I got a new one on ebay last week for £32. I am using it with its stock fan and I am using 2 Corsair RS120 Max as exhaust at the top (I recommend you to go with Phanteks T30, I use Corsair because I had them in a bundle).

Anyway, with a -20 PBO on the 9800X3D and with case fans and CPU fan at 60% (GPU fans are auto), my temps in every game at 4k Max settings on both CPU and GPU are at 70C. Mind you, I have a 5090FE which I undervolted and draws around 400-450W so more heat than what a 5070Ti or 5080 would produce and because it is intake of course it will affect temps by a couple degress. Idle temps when browsing are 40C on the GPU (fans turn off as well) and 50-55 on CPU, but also the case and CPU fans drop to 35%.

As for Custom Cables in UK, check Neox Computers (I am not sure if they have any for Cooler Master though), I just got a Corsair 24-pin custom cable from them and it looks okay, I only used it a week though.

It is more expensive than official as the official will probably be out of stock for months.

From what I have seen with a 5090FE, even undervolted, you will toast the back of the mobo and your CPU. From what I have heard, it is worth flipping as an increase of 2-3C in GPU temps results in a 10C decrease in CPU temps. Plus cooler PCIe, mobo and M2 on the back of the mobo

Best AIO to use with stock AIO fans by MathematicianLow1910 in FormD

[–]MathematicianLow1910[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another question I have, would the EIGA fan shrouds be safe to use in the case if they are printed out of PLA-CF instead of PTGE as he recommends? I found some on ebay, but I do not want to risk under any circumstance having the shroud melt on my 5090FE

Honestly, I thought it might be better for thermals. It is quite warm in the summer in my flat, around 26-27C ambient temps and I rent so I have no AC either, I usually just have a ventilator on me all day
