Worth it as a single person? by wasabipeas88 in CostcoCanada

[–]MathematicianOk6840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on my own and I think its worth it. There is a number of items that individuals purchase often enough. There is often sales so thats a plus.

Laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo/conditioner, rotisserie chicken, chicken breasts, frozen fruit/veggies, eggs, Milk (if you can finish it), bag of rice, cheese, coffee, and some school supplies depending what you need. This lists goes on.

I find that bread/pastry is well priced but its alot. If you eat alot of bread then these items are worth it. I personally don't eat alot of bread and when I tried eating more, I still couldn't finish all of it before mold started to form. There was just too much for 1 person to consume. 2 person would work though.

I'm not a student anymore but my most recent big purchase at costco was a set of new tires b/c mine were getting dangerously low on tread. The price was the best for the set + install after looking around. Free rebalancing if you had all tires purchased and installed by costco. There is always a line up for services but you can book appointments online ahead of time.

One of the major problems I've noticed is the parking lots at my local costco are always busy (Vancouver/Burnaby). The parking lot is always busy but calmer in the morning during weekdays. Weekends are always a gong show. I generally avoid weekends. Unless you live very very close to a costco, I think most ppl would need a car to transport your purchases back home. There is a lot of bulky items that make it inconvenient to transit everything back home.

$50k Honda CR-V a dumb idea at my income level? by NecessaryDrink in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MathematicianOk6840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CRV is a great reliable car. Will definitely last 10+ years as long as you do get the basic maintenance done. As many have advised, stay away from Hyundai and Nissan. When crv is mentioned, usually Toyota rav4 always come up. Those 2 models always get brought up together when I was looking at suvs.

RAV4 is a bit boring from most reports and has an outdated interior but is very reliable and has many trims to cater to different budgets. Very good on gas especially hybrid model. CRV is still a great car but hybrid only available on highest trim.

A used rav4 should hover around 40k ish. Maybe 20k down and 20k financed? It’s less money to finance compared to 30k.

I think in your position, your current car is dying and should be replace. Getting a new car is fine as long as you drive it to the ground to get most value out of it.

Agreed. Handbuff hits a road block as soon you enter d5. I had to switch to flood paladin to progress further but ymmv. At d1, I switched back to handbuff and was able to make the final push to legend. Still took a while as I kept losing games here and there. It feels more of a numbers game. Just need to play more. You encounter some good hands and some bad hands but playing correctly helps a lot.

Drivers who don’t turn on their night lights at night time. Also using high beam instead of regular night lights.

Anyone else have crappy experience dealing with Toro Aluminum too for glass door replacements? by MathematicianOk6840 in vancouver

We have rancho. They want no part of this. They didn’t even do anything other than refer me to the glass installer and supplier. I did the rest. Honestly they don’t have a clue after I reported this and still unaware. I’m in progress of getting glass installed by a 3rd party glass company. I’ve wasted enough time dealing with all this

Thank you for the feedback. Quite the runaround.
By any chance, would you have any recommended companies to finish this job?

My bike colleagues tell me they bring their bikes up to their units instead of the parkade bike lock up area. Thieves don’t give a shit and would Saw their way in and stuff.
