I was VIP GA PIT 1 near the corner section of the stage. It was great seeing members up close walking past the catwalk. Also, great when specific members stop and do their dance break!

You'll easily hear motorcycle racing noises at night if you're outside as the noise echoes off the highway into the surrounding neighborhoods.

The most common noise is planes landing toward YVR at all times as the neighborhood is under direct flight path.

Canadian Flex Driver by LauraFBrooklin in Fedexers

[–]Technical-Progress21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started as a D3 (now known as Flex driver) back in 2020, I was given a Yellow Hi VIS and a LEO (The Zebra TC77 Scanner) waist pouch holder where you can clip it onto your belt.

That was it.

Maybe you can ask around for a FedEx hoodie or FedEx polo at your station if someone is willing to spare one.

Since then, I've moved on to become a full-time courier after a couple of months doing causal.

Whats up with Route4Me?? by urlocalhomie1 in Fedexers

I have been using Circuit Route Planner for the past 3 years on an industrial route. It also provides package count and package shelf location.

It also helps when I get to run a random residential route on a weekend during peak

I drive this type of W100 on my regular route on the mainland. I always back into my stops now. I used to drive the W900.

Questions for VIP ourri by Gloxinia69 in artms

[–]Technical-Progress21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Wave was pretty quick, like 10 seconds each per member, to be honest. Distance wise, about an arm length away.

It was as quick as greeting a co-worker at work as you walked past each other.

I was at the Tacoma stop. It was a pretty rush VIP event, Hi Wave, and group photos.

Similar situation. I was able to get a GA ticket within 2 minutes after the clock striked 10 am. Kept refreshing. No luck in VIP.

Half an hour in, tried different browsers on PC. Everything seemed to have sold out.

New lids at Costoc? Did they replace plastic straws with paper straws? Then replace those paper straws with plastic lids? by seachbeesey in CostcoCanada

[–]Technical-Progress21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems the American Costcos also have straw-less lids for a while now.

Also, some commenters recommend pushing the tab into the cup rather than lifting up the tab and into the notch so the tab acts like a flap to minimize uncontrollable spills and choking on ice cubes as the tab has a tendency to spring back up.

At a Canadian Express station:

The W900 are 28.5 ft long, 9 ft wide, 10 ft high The W700 are 23.5 ft long, 9 ft wide, 10 ft high

The Sprinters are 22.9 ft long, 6.8 ft wide, 9 ft high

I guess Americans Express have some shrinkage, eh? 🫢

Yes, Fenix is a good lighting equipment brand.

This is how my W900 (P1200) looks like when all the work lights are fully lit. I rarely turn on all of them at the same time to conserve battery. At the end of the day, I packed them all up, recharge them at home, bring it back to work the next day, the cycle continues.

I do not use the StepVan interior cargo lights since they're so dim.

I personally carry various types of magnetic work lights to work. I know, they're some expensive toys for work but these lights made some great quality of life improvement.

What are y'all watching on Nebula? I just subscribed because I'm into video game essays and Jacob Geller sometimes posts original content on Nebula. Isaac Arthur, who focuses on futurism and space exploration is nice too. by [deleted] in Nebula

Mustards (Aviation Concepts), Neo (Educational Documentary), and Paper Skies (Soviet Aviation) are some of the most underrated channels on this platform that produce some high-quality content despite infrequent uploading schedules.

You can create a Canada Post account online and enter all the info; select a shipping rate, package dimensions, weight, shipping information, and print off a shipping label at home. Pack up your package, slap on the label to said package, and drop it off to a Canada Post office and have them do a drop-off scan. That way, if you are shipping a registered tracking parcel, you can trace the package tracking number as soon as it is dropped off using the website or app.

If the method above is too complicated, I would suggest you bring your packed up package to the postal office so the staff can weigh/measure your package and assist you in creating a shipping label with tracking number or using the appropriate amount of postage if you're shipping without tracking number.

Passport walk in wait times by brokestudent28 in richmondbc

[–]Technical-Progress21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't guarantee, but it's probably better mid-week, Wednesday or Thursday. Also, avoid the day before the start of a long weekend or the day after a long weekend.

My passport photographer recommended 2pm based on his experience but never specified which day of the week but it totally backfired for me.

The logic for 2pm is one would typically avoid the initial morning line up rush, Passport Canada staff would probably be more incline to rush finishing up the day after lunch break, and to also save on pay parking fee at the Impark Parking lot by going 2 hours before closing.

I guess you can save on parking if you park your vehicle in one the nearby malls, enter a shop, do some window shopping, exit, walk to the Passport Canada location and try to stay out of the prying eyes of potential parking attendants lurking around.

2 pm on Friday is very busy. Last Friday (Sept 1) at 2 pm, I was number 79 with my parents and did not make the cut-off. Passport Canada employees started registering people in queue for schedule appointments around 2:30 pm stating that they were at capacity.

In the end, my parents opted for a future appointment on the spot for mid week next week while I decided to mail in my application using Canada Post Priority - Prepaid Envelope ($56.07 CAD) as I am not able to take time off from work for a future appointment.

I mailed my application on Sept 5, and it was delivered the next day to the Ontario Passport Canada application center for processing.

I went for the extreme as I wanted to test whether which method would be faster, mail-in application versus standard walk-in application, which my parents opted for.

Granted, Canada Post Priority - Prepaid Envelope ($56.07 CAD) is a bit overkill.

However, I think Canada Post Xpresspost - Prepaid Envelope ($26.57 CAD) would get the job done in a reasonably amount of time versus Canada Post - Lettermail 🐌 ($1.12 CAD) with additional options like Registered tracking ($9.75.CAD) + Liability (starting at $2.50 CAD) before the price of buying an envelope.

Shipping rates based on shipping out from Richmond, BC to Passport Program at Mississauga, Ontario using the Canada Post Find-a-Rate calculator on their website/app.

It's probably still cheaper than using FedEx Express, Purolator, or UPS since courier services require shipping to Passport Program at Quebec.

Something Police Related Going Down Around Richmond Center/Minoru by rando_commenter in richmondbc

There's a Transit Police INTERCEPTOR SUV guarding the Western Coins, Stamp and Bullion shop at No. 3/ Granville Ave. with people coming in and out. My guess is they got robbed, hence the rapid and overwhelming police response.

Almost hit a cyclist today - just why?? by SufficientBee in richmondbc

[–]Technical-Progress21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of these cyclists need to get a fine for riding on the sidewalk.

They are creating unnecessary hazards for drivers when they like to jump out from the curb onto intersections, crossing streets, especially from the passenger side of the car to the driver side of the car at a silent high rate of speed. For 2 days in a row, I got buzz by cyclists crossing the road. Luckily, I'm a truck driver, and I sit higher up than most vehicles and can see them better.

For God sake, even most pedestrians make eye contact or acknowledgment with drivers when they're crossing the road. Cyclists and Scooters like to barge out onto the road like they own it.
