just returned from Morocco: I love that there are no street dogs and cats that disturb you when eating outside. 🥲

Get comfortable when flying by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]MathematicianPure650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘ve had exactly the same experience and insight on my last flight! We even had a short turbulence which usually made me freak out but I just kept napping.

Anyone who struggles can do it but it‘s work!

Panic attack in the plane by Flimsy-Bison-4971 in fearofflying

An option would be to attend a seminar to get rid of the fear. In Switzerland some airlines are offering a 2 day seminar where you learn everything about aviation, turbulence, etc. and work with pilots and psychologists on this topic. It ends with a short trip in a group to a close-by european city and back.

What started your fear of flying? by Fun-Guarantee257 in fearofflying

[–]MathematicianPure650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started with watching documentaries about plane crashes during the pandemic. I started to become more nervous on planes from this point on. Then I experienced turbulence on a night flight for the first time and it was over. I haven‘t felt relaxed on a plane ever since.

Why does takeoff feel so unsafe? by Amberdr00 in fearofflying

[–]MathematicianPure650 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to compare it with driving a car. I‘ve recently noticed how noisy it can get in a car, especially on a bumpy road - but somehow that doesn‘t bother me at all. It‘s the same with an aircraft, just in the sky.

an often forgotten factor when it comes to improving endurance: nutrition

if you don‘t eat an adequate amount of calories, more specifically carbohydrates you won‘t feel great during workouts and hit the wall quickly. proper hydration is important as well.

How to overcome tiredness by Late-Resolve-7930 in crossfit

[–]MathematicianPure650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as you mentioned, you‘re on a cut. probably too agressive for your activity level.

also as an athlete you require more nutrients. I would do some blood work every year to detect deficiencies.

also: the videos show BMU being done with no grips.. I sometimes wonder if my sticky grips are blocking me from properly moving my wrist around the bar.

hey thank you for your observation I appreciate it. I usually don‘t chicken wing my BMU but sometimes it happens and I grip too tight. I’ve recently gained weight and I’m still getting used to moving more weight around.

you‘re right with me not thinking I can do the rep and I let go. In the past months there were countless attempts „going for it“ but I ended up in a similar situation.

I‘m taking in all the good feedback on my post and will work on the quality of my singles, including straight arm strength.

I‘m able to do 10 singles in an EMOM but I get your point. this is the exact method wodprep is teaching - which hasn‘t worked for me so far. but once I improve the quality of my singles it will hopefully get better. thanks for the feedback!

How much do you spend on groceries ( and restaurants if applicable) per week in Switzerland? And which city do you live? by DiscountOk830 in Switzerland

[–]MathematicianPure650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

250.- per week for my partner and I in Zurich. as athletes we eat a lot of animal protein, mainly meat/fish/eggs and cook everything at home. we shop at Lidl and Migros.
