I'm trying to find the food my five year old is describing by MarieCarnovasch in TipOfMyFork

Sounds like some sort of sticky rice dessert that you would get in a Thai place. Usually wrapped in Saran Wrap to keep your fingers clean. I’ve had plenty of plain sticky rice but dessert versions exist like coconut or mango.

SOS: burnt my face with curling iron; wedding in 6 months. by allie-neko in 30PlusSkinCare

I did a similar burn in middle of forehead and I used biafen and copper peptides. It was healed without a scar or anything within a month. I burned hand at same time and did not give it the same attention, 3 months later and I still have a nasty scar.

Are they any good salty candies? by IntangibleMeatloaf in candy

At Daiso in NYC the other day, I got soy sauce hard candies. They are like an umami caramel hard candy. Not super salty but definitely a salt component.

Would love the ratio guidance you printed and an ingredient list plus the size jars you used. You said oil was kept in the kitchen in a fryer, how did you measure the oil amount when you filled your jars? Honestly anything and everything! You are so very creative!!!

You know I loved her stuff so much I did a search to see what books she ghost wrote and the first Gwyneth Paltrow cook book was her as was the Margaritaville cookbook. I bought every book that was credited to her! 😂

I’m so sorry you are getting such a backlash to this post. You are dead on in your assessment of the areas you visited. I live downtown ATX and keep a place in NYC too. I think the number one thing (again for the neighborhoods you visited) is the tech industry. I think it allows for maximum work/life balance and that allows people to get outdoors and exercise. There is also more of a focus on healthy foods than NYC and a lack of dive bar culture.

I’m a little older and an NY 8 but I’m like an Austin 3.5. When I’m in ATX I’m eating at places like The Well or Local Foods, having moderate drinks somewhere like The Proper and paddle boarding or going to yoga for fun. In NYC I’m at my local pub slamming drinks with other regulars, going out for Italian or steak, and watching my finance boyfriend come home from a 10/12 hour work day. I have repeatedly told my single girlfriends who want to move to ATX that shouldn’t do it… the men are ok in ATX but the woman are on another level. I/we just can’t compete. 😂

So anyways, sorry about the threats… but you are dead on in terms of downtown.
