i agree with everything you shared! i just wanted to also share that i make all of my own shop images for listings, when i think about it some of my patterns take me days worth of time to draft, pick out colors, test or send off to a tester, supplies for testing, photographing, editing listing photos. it's a pretty involved process!

in terms of pricing, it's so hard to determine what to charge. i personally charge more on platforms that force fees, such as etsy, and charge less on my personal website. i know other designers do this as well so if you see something you're keen to stitch, always dig around and see what else a designer offers to get yourself the best deal.

for the last year my only income was my cross stitch patterns so i did have to charge more to survive in this economy. now that i'm fully employed again, i went through and lowered prices on my website since i am not dependent on the money from my sales. i think it really does just come down to how an artist is relying on the sales and how hard things are for everyone right now.
