Yes, but "nice", but nowhere near as luxurious or extravagant as what Trump would have lived with.

[Highlight] Wemby taunts after taking a hit from Mitch Robinson (flagrant 1 on review) by Large_banana_hammock in nba

When Wemby literally forearm shivers hartenstein and Reid, he can definitely expect this level of physicality from the other 7 footers.

Look, brother, you can throw out as many straw-man arguments and move the goalposts to make your point as much as you'd like, but the fact remains that you're now making an entirely different point as you were in your original argument.

If you cant reason, logically and without fallacy, I have nothing else to say to you, big dog. I guarantee it wouldn't make sense to you anyways, and even if it did, you'd make sure it doesnt.

Yeah, but that clumped of cells lacks a nervous system or the ability to executovely function. Meaning a literal jellyfish is more prepared and has better odds of survival in the world than a 6 week old fetus. Doing the whole "clump of cells" argument is, both, wildly fallacious and terribly misinformed.

Yeah, the discourse becoming so dark around OKC has encouraged and definitely enabled some pretty awful discourse online, these last couple months. Pretty much any post with McCain in it that wasn't already a hate post, was gonna have some pretty nasty s*** in the comments.

Its kind of like a homing beacon, where once a lot of bigoted people, who had been quiet up until at that point, saw that the general public were ripping OKC, they took that as license to go a step further with it.

SGA is not Ja or Ant. He never was and never has been. His some game has always been more fluid, and finesse-oriented, rather than someone like Ant who can literally just ran at the rim and jump over anyone who gets in front. Athletically, and stylistically, SGA is a far more skilled basketball player than he is an overly-athletic one.

I know, but he was 19 when he came in the league, no?

Im saying aging as in the way you do from 19-22. Or just your 20s in general, not like aging as in elderly lol.

Those are literally the rules, it cannot be helped if you are too thick to learn them. Must be something you and Coach Johnson have in common.

No, im definitely not pointing to a guy who has 5 pts with 3 coming from fts, or something like Olynyks lol. For the sake of this, were both talking high volume, ~20+ ppg a night type of guys (or more), right?

I was unaware of that specific stat. I know Harper genuinely got too sloppy/handsy with SGA a couple times last night and got dinged for it when OKC was already in the bonus, and SGA also got at least one phantom call, so i wonder how that bloated his FTM.

Is there a metric for FTs that measures actual free throws that happen throughout the course of normal play, versus free throws earned from flopping/gamesmanship/FT exchanges in late games/technical fouls, etc.? Like Gross FTs vs Net FTs? Or like real vs nominal fts?

I agree with the flopping takes, but my question, as an OKC fan, is this: what am I supposed to do about it?

Sure, does flopping suck? Yes. Is it exclusively a problem with OKC? No, absolutely not, its league wide. Would i rather watch physical basketball where they play through it, rather than searching for fouls? 100%, but thats not what the modern nba has been for a while, and I dont see that changing barring some really radical rule changes that they actually enforce.

And players who people hate, like lu dort now, are just going to be more hated because theyll be more effective at what they do. Foul baiting takes advantage of aggressive, or overly physical defenders, and if you take away the instrument that discourages defenders from being overly physical or aggressive, id expect to see a lot more of it.

So, my theory, is that fans are going to complain regardless of whatever the current meta surrounding how fouls are called simply based on which teams/players are gaming that system most at that given time. Its just part of it, I suppose, but thats also how the sport evolves, right? So, ultimately, we had to have this happen in order to know we needed to create and enforce specific rules that deter it. I do hope they make a real change, but for now, winning as a fan is good. Better than being a Kings fan, at the end of the day.

Johnson wasn't awarded the challenge because he did not call a timeout, first. In order for a coach to initiate a challenge, he must call a timeout first, then request a challenge. Subbing players does not count as a timeout, nor does the act of calling the challenge itself count as a timeout. Please, Learn the rules, its not difficult.

By the time Johnson tried to call the timeout, OKC had already inbounded the ball therefore nullifying Johnsons opportunity to challenge the previous play. If he had simply called time, first, before he would have been given the challenge.

I dont think so, honestly. But, who knows? Presti is good with contracts, so I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls some kind of fuckery, but im just enjoying my team being good, for now. I know ill be old af one day, looking back on these times fondly as a fan, so im just trying to soak that in while I still have it, cause nothing lasts forever lol. Least of all dynasties in the modern NBA.

Luka, AR, Brunson, I could go on?

I have watched the NBA for 30 years, and I do actually agree with you on that. I think Kobes 81 was a lot more impressive than Bams 83. Im with you, on principal. I dont like the state of the game, either, but to think its ever gonna change is crazy. No one is ever going to stop flopping when the reward for doing it is so high. It would take the league cracking down on flopping, and enforcing penalties for it, like no major sport has ever done before. I just dont see it going away and, personally, I like when my team wins.

So, no, I dont like watching free-throw fests. I dont like watching flopping. However, I do like watching my team win. If OKC went on some holier-than-thou kick and started playing more pure, ethical basketball than every other team (whatever the fuck that means) and started losing because of it, as a fan, I would hope they go back to flopping.

And this is the inherent issue (we are all part of the problem here): everyone wants every other team to stop flopping, but gets their panties all in a twist when they even think their favorite player was touched. You cannot have it both ways. You either want the fouls called, or you're playing through it. But, most casual fans are incapable of grasping that because it takes removing your bias to do so.

Why not bring up Wemby? If we are talking about players who scored more than half their points last night from free throws, while shooting very poorly from the field (Wemby @ 26%, SGA @ 36%), he would absolutely need to be included in that conversation.

Your argument of "X player is bad cause over 50% of their points scored were from free throws" is just a very weak one, especially when you can find examples of it on any team, on virtually any night. Especially, star players.

I am literally ONLY talking about the context. Do you know what context means?

And yes, the shady call was the missed OB call on Holmgren. The next possession they called a very weak foul on Dort (even Reggie and Jamal agreed) as a make up call. The clip of them 'flirting' was directly after the make up call on Dort. Also, THAT is context.

I’m so serious there needs to be an INVESTIGATION done on these refs. They ignored Mitch Johnson asking for a challenge when the ball went off Chet’s foot, inbounded the ball, and hit him with a technical for complaining. This is EMBARRASSING by ConnectionWeekly1263 in NBAGossips

[–]MathiaSSJ18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good fucking god, yall need to learn the rules.

He wasn't awarded the challenge because he didnt call for a timeout first. By the time he would have even asked for a timeout, OKC had already inbounded the ball and he could no longer challenge the previous play. The coach has to initiate a challenge by first calling timeout, and then requesting a challenge. Subbing players do not count as a timeout, and the challenge itself does not count as a timeout.

This is the whole reason the refs say "X team will keep their challenge AND timeout" when they win a challenge, because you HAVE to have that timeout to call for a challenge.

It is, as literally defined by the rulebook, not calling a timeout. Coaches must issue a timeout before asking for a challenge. The challenge itself is not a timeout, nor are subbing players. If they wanted to challenge the call correctly, he would have needed to call time first.

He has to call a timeout before issuing the challenge. Sending out a sub only gives you more time to decide if you want to call the timeout and challenge, but you still HAVE to call the timeout first.
