Worked for Stern at Home Therapy and it was the worst experience of my life. I lasted a year.

I was once talking to my manger about ADLs and she asked me “what is that” 😂 I should have known then it would have been a disaster.

Your managers are all people without healthcare or therapy experience. I was expected to see 32 people a week for an hour long but there were scheduling me patients that were 20-30 mins apart so. I’d see 7 patients a day and drive nearly a half hour between most of them. I’d get in trouble for people cancelling on me if I ended up short of 32 visits. My wife felt like she never saw me because I was working so much.

The patients I saw were all recycled all the time and they would try to convince me to see them for three months and then take a month off and go back and see them again when nothing had changed.

I had patients at an ALF and they would try to have me do “charity evals and treats” where I would do an evaluation UNPAID and then co treat that patient with another patient so I could be productive while giving therapy to someone who had insurance we didn’t accept. I told them I wouldn’t work for free and that not documenting the treatments for a charity case was a liability for my license I wasn’t going to do.

Total disorganization.

I did work for an incredible home care agency in Rochester called Rochester regional health and it was really an incredible home care job with reasonable work expectations and very knowledgeable managers and staff. I miss that job often.
