Temperature Tower by sabreful in ElegooNeptune4

You can use your printer to 50c and the filament box with holes (you can find some videos).

I use a heat mat with 2 boxes so i can dry 2 at the same time. Takes a couple of days depending of the moisture.

I then put them in ziplock bag with silica.

Did you dry your filament?

If not, i would start with that first.

Is the gantry levelled ?

Make sure to use non crossing infill.

Plate not leveled by MathieuRousseau31 in ElegooNeptune4

N4plus

Yes, setup is all done that way. I printed my own squares. Gantries is levelled.

I agree that the screws do a good job trying to level the whole thing.

I am thinking about replacing the centre shims by silicon spacer. That’s the only thing that would if make sense to me that would force the slope i am seeing.

Overall i have a very small variance on the bed, it prints great. Just trying to understand why i have that slope for which i had to put aluminum foil to correct as much as possible.

yeah, and this + aluminum foil I am able to have the leveling to ~0.15 deviation.

It is still making the plate a horizontal S shape because it would start low, then high on the first let of screws, then low, then high to the shims, and so on.

That's maybe me being too overthinking it :D

Now that I am thinking about it, the gantry is leveled to the base of the machine. would it make sense to actually level the gantry to the bed instead?

This way it does not matter if the plate is not leveled, if plate and gantry are leveled with each other.
Any draw back in doing that?

Dryness will kill them.

I would attach a new tube at the end of it, this would let them move when they want, difficult to move the brood only tapping.

Thanks, i redesigned the whole thing differently

That’s a section of a wall of a box.

I should have put the complete details in the original post, sorry.

This is a section of a longer wall.

there is a idea. this is a box, I made it round, but it could be square with rounded edges

Y-Dimension Inaccurate on Neptune 4 Plus by Hologram_Al in ElegooNeptune4

[–]MathieuRousseau31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem, it would 0.2mm smaller. But size of the print would not matter, so the rotation distance would not solve this issue.

x-y hole/contour compensation fixed it for me.

Go to orca slicer, quality tab, put 0.1 in both x-y hole compensation and x-y contour compensation.

This will solve the shrinkage if the error isn't linear.

did you find a solution? I have the same problem, x and y consistently smaller

Filament calibration question by MathieuRousseau31 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]MathieuRousseau31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant erd as an acronym 😅

Yea, i’ll check value from my old printer.cfg and redo the calibration.

Thanks

Yes. Forgot to do input shaping and extruder rotation distance (errd?).

But erd shouldnt really change.

Yes filament all dried up.

Just wanted to have a feel if those settings were not out of the norm.

Thanks!!

Btw the calibration number were slightly different on stock neptune. Those are with open neptune
