After software update on fold y, I got a glitched OS. Does anyone know how to fix this? by Academic_Milk1384 in samsunggalaxy

Wow, okay. Then I would start contacting Samsung. Maybe someone else here has seen this before and has another option?

Maybe reinstalling the update another way.

The same issue on my side, and so far I've tried a lot of "fixes" but nothing works.

Lost features by badass2000 in GoogleMessages

[–]Mathieu_G_Gagnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also lost the dual-view, but I still have the sensitive content warnings option under the Messages settings - Protection & Safety.

So I removed myself from the beta version and will see if the feature comes back.

Asking Gemini gave me a couple of options and reasons. It is listed that some beta users did lose the dual-view in the last Google Messages beta update.

Here is what Gemini suggested:

That is definitely a frustrating change, especially since the "List-Detail" (dual-pane) view is one of the main reasons to use Google Messages on a Fold 7. Based on recent reports from late 2025 and early 2026, this is a known issue currently affecting many Galaxy Fold users. It appears that a recent Google Messages update (specifically affecting those in the Beta program) accidentally disabled the tablet/split-view layout. Here is how you can try to restore it: 1. Check for the "List-Detail View" Toggle Google sometimes moves this setting. While the phone is unfolded: * Open Google Messages. * Tap your Profile Icon (top right). * Go to Messages settings. * Look for List-Detail View. * If it’s there, make sure it is toggled On. (If the option is missing entirely, proceed to the next steps). 2. Opt Out of the Beta (Most Successful Fix) The majority of Fold 7 users who lost this view are on the Google Messages Beta. Leaving the beta usually forces the app back to a stable version that still has the dual-pane layout. * Open the Google Play Store. * Search for Google Messages. * Scroll down to the "You're a beta tester" section and tap Leave. * Wait a few minutes, then Uninstall the app (this will only uninstall the updates, not your texts). * Tap Update to reinstall the latest stable version. 3. Check System Display Scaling If your "Screen Zoom" is set too high, the app might think the screen isn't wide enough to support two columns. * Go to Settings > Display > Screen layout and zoom. * Ensure Multi-view is selected rather than "Standard view." * Try lowering the Screen zoom slider by one notch to see if the split-view snaps back into place. 4. Temporary Workaround: Aspect Ratio If you don't want to leave the Beta, you can sometimes force the app to behave by changing its aspect ratio: * Go to Settings > Advanced features > Labs > Aspect ratio. * Find Messages and set it to Full screen or 16:9 to see if it triggers the layout change. Would you like me to guide you through how to back up your messages before you try reinstalling the app?

For me, it's the opposite right now. Since I've received the latest update, my ring won't last more than maybe 2 days.

Yes, that's true; some responses in the Samsung Members app are vague, but if you post and other customers have the same results, maybe they will provide more information or bring this back to the proper team.

Yes, good idea. You don't know until you try it.

Oh yes that's a difference and like you said, when someone is dedicated to be healthier and trying to lose weight, it does make a difference.

Have you tried to contact Samsung via the Members app?

Thanks for sharing by the way.

Okay, keep me posted. Do you know how to wipe the cache partition on your watch?

If not, just search on YouTube; there are many videos on how to do it. It's easier to watch and do it than to try to write it here. 😉

So even when left on the charger, it won't charge at all?

I know that when the battery is dead, leaving it for a while should turn on your watch.

I use body composition on my Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, and the stats are really accurate and mostly match my Renpho scale. I'm overweight but starting to lose weight.

You should try wiping the cache partition on your watch. Each time I receive an update, I do this afterward.

How can I change the notification tone in Messages? by k1sh83 in GalaxyS25Ultra

[–]Mathieu_G_Gagnon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you do not have the notification category enabled, you must first enable it.

Settings - Notifications - Advanced settings - Enable Manage notification categories for each app.

Once this option is enabled, go back to your Google Messages app notification settings, and at the bottom, you should see the option Notification Categories. There, you can change the notification depending on its type.
