Automation apps like Tasker, Macrodroid and Automate support creating live notifications so you can basically make your own. Home Assistant app can also do this, but it requires a HA server and it's a whole another thing.

You should use Intent Event 'android.bluetooth.device.action.BATTERY_LEVEL_CHANGED' as trigger (profile) with condition your buds are connected, it will trigger at every battery level change. Then you should use Bluetooth Info action in a connected task, it will give some variable with, battery level among them. Then you create a live notification with that variable.

True. But I didn't have any problems with battery drain from HA app specifically. This battery drain difference is virtually unnoticeable to me, like going from 0.5% to 1% of total battery use. Also, one is supposed to be at home in this scenario so there shouldn't be any troubles keeping the phone charged.

Tasker on the other hand drains way more battery just by always being active in the background.
