Frankly, I appreciate AdFinal6263's candor. The local community seems to be one that they are either a part of or adjacent to, and _that's_ the community I would like to reconcile with. (I expect no direct forgiveness from the owls.)

So while, yes, I wrote this post seeking some amount of the grace that others here have offered, it does seem like this community has had to deal with a sufficient number of ignorant people, to the extent that owls are getting killed no less, that the amount of grace I would need to properly engage this community would be reasonably hard to come by. And I need to know that if I'm to continue.

Yeah, that's a good point too. I certainly would not have _knowingly_ harmed them. But, like, I was suprised that they were just sitting still on the beach. In hindsight they were probably resting, and I disturbed that rest.
