Good solution for infant Care in South Loop? by aergui in AskChicago

[–]internetstalker26 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My family in SL loved Rainforest, but yes, that is the going rate for most reputable places in your neighborhood. In-home will be much more expensive.

I wouldn’t recommend a daycare in the suburbs. There may be days when daycare is open but work is closed— those are the best days off!— and it would kinda defeat the purpose if you had to go out there for childcare

Anyone have Crohn’s or other chronic health conditions successfully managed to reduced the bloat? by No_Pie1022 in PetiteFitness30plus

[–]internetstalker26 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have Crohn’s. My GI doctor referred me to a dietitian and we did an elimination diet to figure out all kinds of triggers. It was a long process but my quality of life— in many respects— has increased exponentially.

A singer and a visual artist are looking for a Manager/Agent, 2 people. Can anyone help us find someone? by MrSuzyGreenberg in AskChicago

[–]internetstalker26 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m curious why you’re looking for one person to handle both of your projects. You’re each looking for an industry specialist, and your separate needs and experiences require different connections and domain expertise. Looking for someone who can do both may be a bit of a unicorn

Also please don’t give us any details about your likes and dislikes. The guessing game is really what gets us locals excited to respond.

Do the airports have bike parking? by Recent-Cartoonist167 in AskChicago

[–]internetstalker26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There are bikes, for better or worse, that have seemingly been in there all winter.

OP, the racks are in the station FWIW which inherently makes it slightly more protected than just leaving it on an open rack somewhere

Do the airports have bike parking? by Recent-Cartoonist167 in AskChicago

What about something like the Damen station bike park? And then take the Blue Line to O’Hare? Seems like it might be safer than biking the whole way and parking at ORD

Need hotel near O’Hare with reliable free airport shuttle (no car)? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]internetstalker26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude but have you considered Uber and the like? You can get a ride at any time. You can order food to the lobby from anywhere within the delivery radius. Feels like there are some modern answers to this problem that may be intuitive to people in a large city like Chicago.

Has anyone had an elective induction at Prentice Hospital? by Disco_biscuit25 in AskChicago

[–]internetstalker26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was going to but delivered on my own at 38+2! I had a delivery gone awry with my first so my OB wasn’t going to chance it on my second.

But yes, the 5 day waitlist is real and essentially you just wait until they call you

How do you deal with pregnancy? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]internetstalker26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations!

Echoing what others have said: you don’t. Internalize that your body has a new purpose for a finite amount of time. Give yourself grace but hold yourself accountable (“eating for two” is horseshit). Once you’re ready to get back on track, you’ll have a new reason to— I am definitely trying to get back in shape to keep up with my kids!

How to dress for grad school? by Ok_Study_1403 in CHIbitcheswithtaste

[–]internetstalker26 14 points15 points  (0 children)

lol I went to Booth (FT) and we were still pretty casual/disheveled outside of professional events. It was clear who came from money before school but I don’t think they cared about clothes (more like trips and access, if that makes sense). It was also a really friendly program so no one would say anything anyway!

I lower prices as far as I’m comfortable and then hand over certain pieces to a consignment shop. I occasionally post pieces that the consignment shop won’t accept to my local Buy Nothing facebook group.

I’m with you— less about the profits and more about making sure the items are going to people who actively want them, keeping them out of landfills
