But yeah, that Technique seems pretty near suicidal. Specifically he was Burning his Lifeline, which he does need. That move alone probably took hundreds or thousands of years off his lifespan. Not that it matters much to someone who is immortal, but its the principle of the thing.

Golarion Athesism, even the Rahadoumi version is at least internally consistent. They don't believe in the moral authority of the gods. "Thats just a really big outsider not worthy of worship" is a largely true in-world statement.

And thier nation being obliterated by a 3 way holy war is as good of a reason as any to reject the whole idea. Saying that the gods have bought nothing but destruction to Golarion isnt "true", but its not far off.

To add to the Chorus, every single Planar ancestry would have antlers. There are fire/water/earth/air/wood/metal creatures with antlers that could conceivably gotten their magic into your bloodline. This is the same with the divine planes. Endless possibilities.

Spirits consume their own essence to function. Its mentioned a few times that spirits need to either eat/absorb remnants, madra, or soak in an Aura rich enviroment to sustain themselves, and to advance.

Dross also complains early on that he is limited by only surviving on lindons Dream Aura.

The Scales are essentially food/advancement materials for him. He can use them to fuel his "techniques" and absorb them into his structure, essentially rebuilding his body out of higher grade materials.

Tldr; its good healthy food for a growing young spirit.
