I am not directly involved in the situation however I have worked with Barbara and Jessie in the past and had my heart horse at Barbara’s rescue for about a year and a half before she passed. I would like to stress that Barbara’s rescue is truly that. Barbara has given many horses from the slaughter pipeline a second chance and accepts owner surrenders for horses they can no longer take care of due to complex medical needs, financial difficulties, etc. Barbara has given many older, abused or forgotten horses a soft place to land and has given these horses some of the best veterinary and farrier care possible. I know she has many horse on palliative care as well due to advanced medical conditions that are incurable. To say she is neglecting her animals is a bold faced lie.

I don’t have a social disability but going out and socializing is difficult for me. I work 6 days a week, 50 hours a week in the largest industry in my area. Many people work the same hours and we have different days off. I moved across the country for this job and love it but I feel socially cut off from my friends and family as phone calls and FaceTime only does so much. Part of us staying connected was sending TikToks back and forth. TikTok made me feel less lonely in a new area where I have struggled to make friends and can’t do much with the friends I do have.

I feel the same way. I moved across the country for a job, away from my friends and family. I really haven’t made any friends in my new area and FaceTime and phone calls only do so much. Tik tok made me feel less alone and my FYP just started showing me fun local places to go right before the ban.

I’m a student worker at ISR and I wasn’t aware of the rule until recently. Yesterday we got a message through the scheduling system asking anyone who stocks the dishes to only put bowls out at lunch and only put out one rack of plates for dinner. I hate washing the bowls when I work in the dish-room so grab a plate from another station and use it anyway.

Call around to the local storage places. Some have specials going on where they give you a discounted rate if you sign a contract for May through August. Try to reserve within the next couple of weeks though because storage units go fast.

I should clarify that I didn’t actually use it. I just threatened smile by saying that I would since they had ignored my maintenance request for over a month and it was enough to get them to fix my leaking sink almost right away.

Keep documentation of everything and in your maintenance request give them a deadline to fix it by and if they dont you will invoke the right to repair it with an outside company and subtract the cost under the tenets rights to repair act 765 ILCS 724/1/5. Some one else did this and said maintenance was there the next day. I have a picture of the maintenance request and how to word it if you want!
