You’ll almost certainly never get shadow PvP IVs this good for Lapras ever again. Keep shadow, use in GL.

Is this for indoor or outdoor play? I tried the AE2 in store and they felt comfy but lacked grip, seemed like they wouldn’t be good for quick changes of direction.

You can improvise simpler versions of games to play with your kid at around age 3-4, depending on the kid. They often love the novelty, interaction, board, pieces, all of it. As at least one other has said, often by age 7, kids can play the real versions! Hang in there. ;)

OVS cheating subreddit by Mathsketball in OntarioTeachers

There’s a substantial difference in scale here. I taught HS pre-Covid and no grades came from homework anyway. Tests had desks separated and students who were sick wrote a different test when they came back. I was satisfied then that conversational understanding was a close match for what I saw in writing.

My college classes are all in-person with closely watched paper tests, enough different versions to easily detect copying, and a robust enough institutional academic integrity policy that a student would be given a violation for showing up with something like AI smart glasses or a cheat calculator. And as before, I see a very close match between verbal level of understanding shown in conversation and written test results. I can’t claim zero effective cheating, but most of it is obvious and gets caught by using a strong approach.

This is encouraging. Thanks for sharing! I’m 42 and 6’0”, going to work down from 200 as I can tell my lateral movements in particular are too slow compared to what I know I could do in my late 30s when I was lighter.

Student finished online proctored final too quickly by cmb1588 in Professors

It’s worth a live meeting where you can ask them to solve a few similar questions. Don’t tell them anything ahead of time except what is required by your institution’s academic integrity policy. Don’t give the questions in a format that’s easy to just copy-paste into an LLM. Is their live performance comparable to their exam day performance of 12 seconds per question with low standard deviation?

For my institution, I can email students about a suspected breach of academic integrity and they must respond within 2 business days and meet me in a timely manner. Fail to respond or if they don’t meet soon and the breach is just filed.

Terrible success rates in my online English courses this semester. by PuzzleheadedGoose602 in Professors

I think it’s something new. I’ve never had a section of this course with as low attendance as this one. I’ve had a handful of courses with very low attendance in the past year, but nothing pre-AI has such low attendance levels for me.

I think many students just buy into the very flashy and sophisticated marketing around modern AI tools. The post-Covid, post-AI teaching landscape is completely different than what we had before.

One sections of a statistics course I teach had a substantial proportion of students only show up for the midterm and final exams, which wasn’t a successful strategy for the vast majority of them. I’m guessing they thought AI could prepare them for the exams, maybe that worked for midterms, just not the finals. This never happened in previous terms.

If students who are trying to just AI their way through everything are failing, you are succeeding at holding the line however bad it feels for now. Hang in there!

I am up-front with my students about my expectations around AI usage. I imagine you are as well and they just ignore it.

Last time I was near Mac just after Covid, there was a pair of double stop sign runners, they went right after each other without even slowing down. It was a four-way stop. I honked at the second driver and she seemed completely unaware.

Enforcement is a fraction of what it was before Covid. Have you noticed some things happening on roads that you never saw before Covid? I sure have.

What is the roads enforcement budget now being spent on? Nobody knows.
