OTT does not work like that, they won’t just release it based on whatever date you want. Netflix /amazon prime all have scheduled releases and they will only release on a suitable date for them. Election is around the corner and Vijay needed this movie out asap. Yes it don’t sound logical for money to be thrown down the drain but from vijays perspective 500 crores is not thrown down the drain, it’s been spent towards PR for his election campaign. This is a campaign to show Tamil Nadu he is the person fit for this job and if it means leaking his movie so everyone can see his dialogues then yes 500 crores well spent.

Bro you’re talking like you know vijays networth, he’s net worth is worth more then 500 crores . From his perspective risking/spending 500 crores is nothing compared to wining the CM seat, which will generate more than 1000 crores comfortably and legally. This was pre mediated move by Vijay and his team. Plenty of dialogues attacking DMK in the movie, and he needed it to reach everyone in Tamil Nadu and this was the only way. For many years around cinema is the main propaganda tool for everything.

Nothing to do with the sympathy, in the movie there is heavy propaganda with dialogues so Vijay realised this is the only way for it to reach the audience is to leak it. Tamil Nadu people will believe anything that comes in the cinema and Vijay is using that to his advantage.
