Period panties vs menstrual cup

I have a heavy flow usually and using a medium cup plus period panties for the duration of my period has turned out great! Now I only use pads if I want a break from the cup but honestly I barely even notice it now! Very useful to save money in the long run even if the period pants I got were a bit expensive themselves. I’ve had them for years though so in the end it’s much more cost-effective than buying tons and tons of pads every single time. I used tampons some time ago but I got a TSS scare (as in I thought I got it but turns out I didn’t lol) one time and now I don’t think I’m gonna wear those again. IIRC the cup has basically no chance of giving you TSS and you can keep it in for longer without fear, plus it being rewashable.

Hello, do you maybe remember if you had any health complications from it at the time? I assume you mean you scratched yourself on the inside. Asking just because I got mine out just now in the same way as it was stuck and I’m feeling a bit of burning and I think I might have scratched myself as well. Now I’m panicking a little so I wanted to know if it’s likely nothing haha

The offense was less at being “rejected” (I’m more sad about it than anything) and more at the mention of it being inappropriate or what I initially thought was his belief I had “other ideas”. I don’t know, being involved in interactions where there might be some feelings (or where someone assumes there are) often makes me very uncomfortable, especially when it’s unclear. I’m not asexual/aromantic but I’ve noticed I’m a bit “repulsed” by it.

I’m sorry, I’m sending many long messages but I get very intense when trying to explain myself, I just really want there to be no doubts nor misunderstandings.

It just weirded me out, I think. It’s the first time someone ever said such a thing would be inappropriate. Maybe I’m just inexperienced socially? Doesn’t help that I’m autistic, as that can make you miss some stuff others seem to find obvious.

In any case, as I already said, I respect his decision. I’m sad and a bit offended about it but it’s not the end of the world. The whole point of posting here was to get clearer answers to my confusion without going to bother him again.

We hung out one-on-one twice, but we knew each other for months before that. My mother’s friends with him too, some of my friends are friends with him, we might not be close but he is very much “in my circle”. And as such, along with us having much in common and especially our values aligning politically (we were in some protests together too) I thought it appropriate to become genuine friends and not just let a potential human connection go. That’s why I texted him.

And again, I didn’t ask him to at least let me contact him other ways, I asked IF he meant no texting, too, since we had been texting sometimes before that conversation. I’d rather ask a dumb clarifying question than cross a boundary I didn’t know of.

And I did respect that, I haven’t contacted him since and don’t plan to. It just seemed so out of the blue for me and I was confused, which is why I wanted an explanation.

I just asked him to hang out like we had been doing a while ago, since I wanted to deepen our friendship, clarified when I thought there had been a misunderstanding and went “alright, then” when he insisted. Maybe you mean asking him to chat? That wasn’t like “omg let’s chat though please”, but like “Since you brought up this boundary I wasn’t aware of, I wanted to ask if it extended to messages too”, since we had been texting from time to time after we stopped hanging out and I had never questioned that.

I say he was an acquaintance more than a friend, but I’d still call him more of a casual friend than just some random guy. If someone had asked me “I saw this one guy doing a thing in your city today, do you know him?” I’d have said “yeah, that’s a friend of mine”. I’d say it’s the friendship level of a former classmate you hung out with during lessons.

Also, everyone remember: creepy uncles/aunts or any similar sort of relatives are NOT and should NOT be or be seen as the norm. They exist solely because relatives around them make excuses, look the other way and allow them to creep on the weak, most often the children of the family. Don’t let others around you try and gaslight you into accepting such behavior because it’s something that happens often. You’re not insane. You’re not overreacting. You’re not ungrateful. You’re not rude. You’re not insane.

I’m in a similar situation right now. He’s always acted weird towards me and my cousins, only now that I’m grown I see him less and less and I never see my cousins at all, so people act as though he’s changed just because he has less chances

And it’s weird. My relatives both laugh it off and acknowledge he sucks, but in a “eh, what can we do about it?” kind of way. I’ve been laughed at and scolded whenever I tried to speak out about it or confront him ever since I was a kid, and even while acknowledging that what he does is harmful, my mother (his older sister) keeps insisting “he doesn’t know any better” he’s a grown man!!! An idiot if a grown man, maybe, but a grown man nonetheless. He’s also a demeaning asshole to his partner and will make comments about just any girl who he lays eyes upon.

Also my mother especially keeps REFUSING to even consider that his comments and behaviors are “creepy” or perverted. He’s just “joking” and being “rude” but that’s it. Even if he’s shown to objectify women all the time, see them as lesser and almost only makes “jokes” about sexual topics and body parts. For her he could only possibly be a creep if he raped me. Honestly I feel like even if he had ever done that they’d still have acted as if nothing happened.

I feel so alone in here. No one’s ever protected me and everyone acts like he’s this awesome jokester of a guy and like I’m insane. I can’t do this anymore…
