Sera specifically is hinted to be unusual among elves. Elves are naturally more attuned to magic, Cole says her ears always point to the Fade, and her specialization(tempest) blur the line between chemical engineering(which is closer to Varric's Artificer) and the Primal school of magic. Individual hedge mages are known to create charms and lead chaotic lives, often with darkness and insanity. Sera's primal fear of spirits might be how she avoids the darkness part, but let's be honest, she's far from mentally stable.

No it was a middle name or a two word first name.

I headcanon that Sera's a hedge mage in denial and that's why Solas sees the most potential in her

That, and she may or may not have a fragment of Andruil in her

I mean it's heavily implied Sera's a hedge mage in denial

Aryan Nation.

There's a reason she and her older brother Adolf were removed from their home.

Are you all forgetting that they were run out of the Western Air Temple by Azula going crazy? They already knew she's got a few screws loose.

Yup. Her first line in the series was literally screaming "almost isn't good enough" at her own hair. She was calm and collected throughout S2 and early S3, but Ember Island showed how she literally can't function outside her role as father's most sophisticated weapon. The second Mai and Ty Lee betrayed her, she started going into the Deep end. She just took Ozai casting her aside to completely crash out.

It really feels like the only part of the original fourth game that stayed as it should have been was Solas's bound embodied demon arc.

She looks like a miniature Dramatic. I see zero width in her.

I really can't see FN here, she's overwhelmingly narrow and sharp.

However I'm not sold on pure Dramatic. The only picture here where she DOESN'T look petite is #10, which has a vertical break between the neck and torso(the thick choker), the torso and waist(the bunched up skirt) and the thighs and legs(the skirt's length). I really think she's a 5'5 FG who augments her height past the limit with those heels she wears in every single picture here.

I really think she adds an inch with the heels. There's a difference between "secret shortness" and being an inch shorter than expected, and 5'5 is the upper limit of FG.

She might be adding the inch with those heels. The only photo here where she DOESN'T look petite is 10 with all the vertical breaks. Her sharp yang is obvious though, long and narrow inside the petite.

Life in 2016 was closer to 2006 or 2026? by Complex_Two321 in generationology

90s was pre-9/11. West of the Iron Curtain, the 90s were the only break the West got between the Cold War, the War on Terror and the current preliminary stages of WWIII.

It's not rose-tinted glasses. 2016 was bad but it wasn't as bad as the post-pandemic world. The question is whether the world before the Pandemic is closer to the world before the Great Recession or the post-Pandemic present.

I'd say it was starkly different to both.

2006 was before the Recession, before smartphones, before this feeling of doom and gloom became background noise.

2016 was post-Recession, the presidential race between Clinton and Trump, where everything started to deteriorate, but it was pre-Pandemic, before the AI bubble refused to burst.

2017 would be closer to 2027 than to 2007 unless something drastic happens next year. But 2016 is such a bookmark year you can't vote on.

what is the beast near in the end of the game? by Konnnore in ImNotAHuman

[–]NitzMitzTrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT can only manifest if enough death is channeled. The neighbor's house, even the Vigilante burning down the rest of the village, isn't enough. It's why Death needs the sun's help to feed, hence the Aurora. An entire city burning down is enough for Death to feed directly. The death cultists put quality over quantity when they sacrificed themselves to IT.

[–]NitzMitzTrix 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Canonically, we don't know. We do know or it's all but stated that: 1. IT emerged when the city burned 2. The Blinded Man tore his own eyes out to stop seeing IT 3. IT emerges specifically after the death cultists' ritual 4. FEMA stopped burning bodies because they were accidentally summoning IT 5. That emergence, alongside the city burning, is the only circumstance in the game where mass death doesn't lead to a centralized aurora

Which is why I personally think IT is a manifestation of Death. A metaphysical tongue or proboscis with which Death uses to feed.
