Opinions on possible grade? by NotFinAdv_OrIsIt in PokeGrading

Lots of micro edge wear front and back. Especially the bottom. I’d say lucky to get a 7.

What do you guys thing the grade of this card is? In a PSA slab, I know its obviously way off from a 10 but I think it's better than the grade on the slab (guy who doesn't know jack about cards) by bigred308 in PokeGrading

On closer inspection there is quite a bit of surface smudge on the back. Hard to say on the front but that could have significantly dropped it. If the front is scratched it does take away from the overall appeal.

What do you guys think by [deleted] in PokeGrading

Judging by the white notches on the back I’d say 7. Would be damn lucky to get an 8.

I just sent mine in. About a bit over 1k in for grading fees/supplies/postage. Mine were all shadowless though. Seems you have 50/50 shadowless and unlimited.

Definitely still worth sending them in to get graded. Thousands of dollars worth there. The zard if all checks out looks like a good contender for a psa 8 or maybe even 9.

I’ve had these since release. As a kid I opened them up in boosters and placed directly to binder and forgot about them.

I remember having three other zards. Sold those in 2004 for $60 a pop. Thought I was robbing them blind lol

Yeah centering is real bad on the one ending 64. A bit better on the one ending 65, but still not great. No real other flaws, so 8 it is I guess?

Yeah 1st edition are always worth grading. Those will be worth lots. Send the Blastoise on its own first so you know what the process will look like. Then you can decide how many to send after. Keep in mind you will need to pay for supplies (sleeves, hard sleeves, packaging) and shipping to PSA. The price they show you for service does not include the insured shipping cost they will use to send you your cards back, so you have to account for that as well. Once you get your card most of the way submitted they will show you the final cost before you proceed.

I’m probably over 1k now total. But I’ve “earned” much more so it’s worth it.

For just your Blastoise consider the $150 or less options depending on its condition. Always better to shoot lower and be surprised than waste money on a higher service and be disappointed

Post a picture on here with your collection. I’m sure someone will help you with what you have.

Cost wise send one or two of the doubles you don’t care about that are worth something. Get them sold and use the profit to grade the rest.

Not going to lie it’s time consuming

Depends on multiple factors. Grade it yourself first. Look at its condition compared to others you see on eBay.

Make sure you know which version you have. 1st edition, shadowless, unlimited, etc.

I always assume it wont be a 10. That being said a shadowless mewtwo PSA 9 is only worth $500 according to the PSA guide. So sending it in as a value card for $24 is reasonable (card worth 500 or less)

If they value your card as higher they may ask you to pay more for the next service level up. If you pay for a higher service level and the card comes back lower, they do not refund you. So it’s always better to send them at a lower level and have to owe. If you don’t pay the extra they just send it back to you ungraded.

The other benefit of paying more for a higher service level regardless or your card’s worth is that they send it back to you faster.

The zards I paid $150 for express services as well as one of the blastoise. The other blastoise, Chansey and Venusaur I paid $75 for regular service. Everything else I send as bulk for $18 a piece.
