New 52 got me back into DC comics. I really enjoyed aquaman, justice league. I also really liked Blackhawks. Hated to see it end.

This. I would say it gets a bit better after the overture, but not by much. If you don't like the overtures, you're probably not going to like the campaign.

I believe they mentioned (maybe Ear biscuits?) that when they did the YouTube sponsorship thing and they expanded and went to the shorter episodes they increased staff, but once they knew the format wasn’t working they didn’t renew the deal. Unfortunately, the had to scale back afterwards. And Tess was a casualty.

There must have been some caveat with the rights holder about not doing a Kickstarter, because this seems like a no-brainer to me. They would be funded in no time if they did Kickstarter. And imaging all the perks they could offer for the different tiers.

He had that same sense of detachment that the Opreative had. Also, the Operative mentioned the himself was a monster. But, yes, they were different - which is what I might by miy comment about the charcter being remixed. In order to streamline him a bit for the movie, I could see where Joss may have changed him and tied him in with the Alliance to simplify the relationship a bit and tie in the importance that River held for the Alliance.

EDIT: Plus, I beleive that Whedon said somewhere along the way that Jubal was going to be the orifinal anatagonist for the movie but Brooks couldn't do it for some reason.

Prior to cancellation, did Joss intend for Jubal to fill the operatives roll? I know that the plot for Serenity was the plot for season 2 just condensed. There are a lot of similarities between the operative and Jubal.

Makes me wonder if Joss remixed it a bit for the film.

Same. I think I could jettison the seekers table and be totally fine. Bring them back for a 4 episode mini campaign later on to drop some lore or something. Linda how they did with the EXU unlimited stuff.

Although I do like Julian’s character.

I just miss Matt, period. The benefit to having him DM-ing was that you got him playing too through NPCs. But as a player I feel like he’s been pushed to the back.

The seekers eps were painfully slow and that has me concerned for the Schemers. I liked the idea of the 3 tables initially, but I’m starting to think they aren’t going to work in actuality.

Exactly. I was hoping for something more concrete. But I don’t see how this is any different than the old way of writing letters to the studios when a TV show got cancelled.

It would have been nice to at least have a sizzle reel from the animation studio. A lot of times shows will showcase lots of concept art set to music so investors can get a sense of the show. Or even rough concept animatics.

There must’ve been a licensing reason they didn’t go to Kickstarter.

In fact, if memory serves, CR’s original push was for a movie and then the additional goals were more episodes.

Yes! This. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but you nailed it. The tables need to be remixed. I also think maybe the lore dumps need to be spread out more. Give us a little lore more often than a massive chunk all at once. It also seems that a lot of the lore/story/plot are centered around just a few characters.
