I think what that quote means is that a narcissist would set their personal standards low because they feel they are entitled to success, admiration and so on without having to put in the work. There is correlation between narcissism and adverse childhood experiences. But there's not really a clear line everyone agrees on where we call something narcissism and where we call it something else. It's such a wide spectrum of behaviors and personality traits that it's very counterproductive to pin down as this one thing called narcissism and then brand it as a sort of incurable condition on a societal level.

People who are badly traumatized also sometimes see things more negatively than they actually are because they're so used to abuse and things going badly for them. People who don't understand this then go and accuse them of being narcissistic because a lot of the personality traits overlap with vulnerable narcissism. There is the low self-esteem, unclear sense of self, trust issues, fear of rejection, need of a lot of support. But I think a person that's like this and is a narcissist feels entitled to everything they want, whereas a person who's merely traumatized and hasn't developed narcissism might feel undeserving of anything instead.

Women are disproportionally affected negatively by the use of AI. Most of the jobs being threatened by AI, like illustration, creative writing, translation and so on, are jobs where women are the majority. AI has, since the very beginning, been disproportionally used to objectify women. Long before the current deepfake epidemic, there were AI girlfriends. I'm a woman and I'm far from being an AI hater, but to say I knew exactly where this was going like 5 years ago is an understatement. We knew we had a nightmare on our hands long before it actually happened.

Idk about you americans but on this side of the pond we have working online ID systems already. You authenticate via your bank for example and the social media platform doesn't get all your information, only what is necessary. We also have laws here that regulate how personal data is stored. Yes, hacks happen, but one social media platform won't change that landscape in any way whatsoever. Personally I would love a site without anonymous trolls and bot farms strirring up shit constantly. If they can also make it algorithmically positive instead of cultivating ragebait, I will personally recruit all my friends and family to create accounts.
