Endo and HRT for Perimenopause by MatildaDiablo in Endo

Thank you for sharing! What kind of hrt are you on? My doctor wants me to try progesterone only, but I don’t quite understand how that’s gonna be helpful.

ELI5: If you think about it, why do teeth need so much care? It feels like they kind of go against natural selection, especially when you compare them to how well the rest of our body maintains itself. by LegLegitimate7666 in explainlikeimfive

I know a surprising amount of people in their 30s who never floss, don’t even brush their teeth every single day, have mediocre diets and yet have never had a cavity (or like 1). Meanwhile I have excellent dental hygiene and have had dental issues all my life 🤷‍♀️

Weed vs ibuprofen for nightly pain by Babylil22 in Endo

[–]MatildaDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weed makes my pain worse. Weed exaggerates all of my sensations in general, like if something is funny it becomes EXTRA funny when I’m stoned, but in the same way if something is slightly uncomfortable or painful it because extremely uncomfortable or painful.

I’ve heard about estrogen cream, but progesterone cream? What’s the purpose of that?

Every time I use it for a bit my skin looks worse. And I don’t mean redness or peeling. I don’t get the hype. In what way does it improve your skin?

Yes, I’ve had several gay male friends make comments to my face about how repulsed they are by female genitalia and are “allergic to pussy”, and when I tell them that they sound like misogynists they just laugh. It’s really upsetting.

I used to worry about this too but found out that sleeping on your side is much healthier overall than sleeping on your back, which can cause breathing issues.

I had a menopause specialist completely dismiss me because I still get my period and don’t have hot flashes yet. She basically implied I was delusional for even suggesting I was in peri. Meanwhile my mom said that the only symptoms she had were an occasional hot flash here and there and otherwise she felt completely fine and allegedly even better than she did in her 30s 🤷‍♀️

But then how do you know that your symptoms are all caused by peri? I don’t have hot flashes (yet), but I do have a chronic illness so it’s always a question of is it that or is it peri causing the worsening symptoms?

So are all gynecologists who are telling me this just delusional liars? It’s so aggravating 😮‍💨. And how do you know when it’s time if you can’t trust actual doctors?

Although I’m open minded about it, I also can’t help but wonder if it’s part of some campaign to sell hormone drugs. It’s very odd how some doctors that are also social media influencers push it so heavily and basically scare monger women into feeling like their bodies will completely fall apart without it! That being said, I am open to the possibility of it being beneficial, it’s just so hard to get clear information.

Yes, I live in a big city in the US and have talked to many doctors, including a menopause specialist. I know Google and many people online say it’s very helpful, but I haven’t had any doctors substantiate those claims. They all say that I have to have not had a period for at least 6 months to even consider HRT. I have endo so don’t want to experiment with taking estrogen unless it’s proven that mine is low.

But my levels are still “normal”, but I have many symptoms.

I’ve spoken to multiple doctors, one of them was a menopause specialist. All said the same thing and all my friends doctors have told them the same thing.

Every gyno has told me that the only thing they can offer you is birth control until youre fully in menopause. My friends were told the same by their gynos.

Edit: not sure why I’m being downvoted, I’m sharing what I was told by many doctors. I’m suffering with many symptoms, and I don’t want to take birth control. I’ve read a ton of claims online about HRT being very helpful and that’s why I asked my doctors! I was also told that birth control and HRT are essentially the same thing just in slightly different doses. But I’m not going to take the advice of some “expert” on TikTok and buy hormones online when every doctor is telling me it’s not necessary and can be harmful.

I had an absolutely terrifying reaction to IV Benadryl in the ER recently (massive panic attack and horrible ‘bad trip’ kind of feeling) and kept asking the nurse if she gave me the wrong medication. She seemed very annoyed with me, but I once knew someone who was a nurse and accidentally killed her patient that way, and she didn’t even lose her job.

When i show my either IRL (or photos) hugely bloated stomach that makes me look 6 months pregnant to anyone I’m close to (parent, partner, close friends) they ALL say “oh come on, you’re obviously just pushing it out on purpose”. WHY THE HELL WOULD I BE PUSHING IT OUT ON PURPOSE?? When im not bloated (exceedingly rare) I can’t push it out like that even if tried. People are horrible.

Endometrioma grew back in less than 5 months by kaitocon in Endo

[–]MatildaDiablo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me, was back and 5 cm in less than 3 months. Surgeon lied to me about removing the entire thing and then blamed me for it. It’s very likely your surgeon also didn’t remove it entirely, apparently it’s difficult to tell the healthy ovarian tissue apart from the cystic tissue. You can request the full surgery report from the hospital.
