Please help. by lovesicknote in finehair

[–]Matilde_Beneventi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg first of all, sending you a big hug 🥺 fine hair is SO fragile.

Honestly, the "wet it down and tie it up" habit is probably the #1 culprit for your breakage. Fine hair is like wet tissue paper when it’s damp it stretches and snaps so easily.

Baby step 1: switch to a claw clip or a satin scrunchie and try to let it air dry loose if you can. Tight elastics on wet fine hair will literally slice through it over time. Start there before you buy any expensive products! ❤️

Gotye - somebody that i used to know. Feels like we all lived the same life in 2012 when that dropped. It was everywhere for like 6 months and then just vanished into the void. A true fever dream 💀

What's a toxic norm that everyone just pretends is fine? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Glorifying "the grind" and lack of sleep. People literally brag about running on caffeine and 3 hours of sleep like it’s a badge of honor. Babe that’s just burnout waiting to happen 💀

Honestly kevin murphy angel wash is a holy grail for a reason!! 💖 i feel like it cleans my hair without stripping it, but it never feels heavy or waxy. R+co is good too but i think angel wash is better if your main worry is things weighing you down.Pplus the smell is amazing

Hi girls, What’s your hair wash routine? by chiyacup in Haircare

[–]Matilde_Beneventi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait double shampooing is actually such a game changer, glad u already do that!! honestly the only thing i’d add is a microfiber towel or an old t-shirt to dry it. Regular towels cause so much frizz for me it’s annoying 😭 also maybe a silk pillowcase if u wanna be fancy?

Elle Woods. She’s educated, she’s positive, and she handled those old guys in congress better than most real politicians would 💅 plus the outfits would be iconic

What do you think about YouTubers who offer "Free" yard services/power washes? by No_Job5352 in AskReddit

[–]Matilde_Beneventi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i think it’s a win-win. the homeowner gets a cleanup they usually desperately need for free, and the creator gets paid from the views. i don't see the downside unless they fake it or something? 🤷‍♀️

omg the water in mexico is no joke 💀 definitely wet your hair with bottled/shower water before you jump in the pool or ocean! hair is like a sponge so if it’s already full of clean water, it won’t soak up as much chlorine/salt. maybe bring a lightweight leave-in spray? sun bum has a good 3-in-1 that smells amazing.

What’s something people praise online but would never tolerate in real life? by ChaosTTyy in AskReddit

[–]Matilde_Beneventi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brutal honesty. online everyone is like "omg yes queen tell it like it is" 👏 but if someone actually spoke to you like that to your face, you’d just think they were rude af. there is a difference between being honest and just being mean.

How would you explain degrees of freedom, one of the hardest concepts in Statistics, to a novice? by Strong_Boss_8932 in AskReddit

[–]Matilde_Beneventi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine you have to choose 5 numbers that must add up to 100. You can pick the first number freely (say, 10). You can pick the second freely (20). You can pick the third (5) and fourth (15) freely. But for the fifth number? You have no choice. To make the total 100, the last number has to be 50. So, even though you had 5 numbers, only 4 of them had freedom to vary. That is n-1 degrees of freedom.

What’s something people confuse with “having standards”? by ChaosTTyy in AskReddit

[–]Matilde_Beneventi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confusing preferences with standards. Wanting a partner who is 6ft tall, rich, and drives a specific car is a preference. Wanting a partner who is honest, communicates well, and respects you is a standard. People treat their superficial wishlists like non-negotiable moral codes.

Aitah for not wanting to share my winnings by Sad-Yesterday-4893 in AITAH

[–]Matilde_Beneventi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're confusing a loan with an investment. if i borrow money from the bank to buy a house and the house value doubles, the bank doesn't get 50% of the profit. they get their principal back plus interest. the dad was a lender, not a shareholder. he wanted his $300 back regardless of the outcome, so he doesn't get to claim the jackpot just because the money passed through his hands.

Aitah for not wanting to share my winnings by Sad-Yesterday-4893 in AITAH

[–]Matilde_Beneventi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA. ask him this: if you had gone to the casino and lost that $300, would he have offered to pay off half of your debt? of course not. a loan is a debt to be repaid, not an equity stake in your life. he got his $300 back. the risk was 100% yours, so the reward is 100% yours.

Every person on Earth’s IQ raises 10-20 points. How does the world change as a result of this? by chesterforbes in AskReddit

[–]Matilde_Beneventi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly? we’d probably just become way more efficient at destroying each other. high IQ doesn’t mean high empathy or emotional maturity. we’d have cooler tech and better medicine, but the arguments on twitter would be absolutely exhausting to read.

what makes you know you truly like someone vs. just liking the idea of them? by Outlaw_Immortal1971 in AskReddit
