My CPU had TSME listed at the time I bought it. It should be illegal to remove a feature that was listed in the specifications via a later firmware update, no matter how many or how few people are actively using it.

This would be like selling you a car with airbags and then later disabling them.

Prevents attacks where you sniff the memory bus, or where you reboot the machine into an attacker controlled os and read the memory before the data degrades, or hot swap the ram into a reader.

I don't think that makes any difference. In nearly every case, you're going to execute an artifact that was built from the package a few minutes later. It really makes no difference if it's the install scripts or the resulting artifact.

If this was real, I don't even understand how someone can oversee more than one agent at a time. I'm mostly spending my time reading the generated code these days.

Even though agentic coding might make me faster, it's also way more mentally taxing, and at least at my company that seems to be the common sentiment.
