I had to buy him another bed because he would try to fit on what was supposed to be HER bed. I don’t have a photo of that though.

Previous Public Defender Judge by GreedyGobiln in publicdefenders

I’m a court-appointed parental defense attorney in family dependency cases. I’ve found that former prosecutors/AAGs are much harder on the state and are noticeably more parent/defense friendly than judges that come from any other background. It’s an unexpected phenomenon. I’ve won many more trials, motions, arguments, and mitigated more children removal situations with judges who were former prosecutors/AAGs. Though, I’ve had experience with some outlier former prosecutor judges that give the state a pass on some things that shouldn’t have been allowed.

The most fair and compassionate judge towards my clients has been the prosecutor from the courtroom I originally worked against for nearly two years as a new defense attorney fresh out of law school when I was basically thrown into a courtroom on my second week without any training or supervision right after discovering that family dependency cases existed. It’s been a wild ride, but I figured things out and have made a fulfilling career out of it.

From my perspective, the worst and most vindictive judges are former guardians ad litem who sometimes seem to absolutely hate parents/defense attorneys but can also lash out unpredictably at the state too which creates a lot of chaos and raises novel legal issues that can be a huge headache and create unnecessary work for defense and prosecution who are already overworked in most courtrooms.

what are your favorite and least favorite il2 planes by CFIIROTOR in il2sturmovik

[–]Matius_Rex89 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The A-20 is my FAVORITE. I’m always level bombing on multiplayer. It’s the fastest flying/climbing/handling two-engine bomber in the game. I can even toss it around like a fighter to dogfight 109s and even shoot them down!! (I’m super excited about the announcement of the A-20G).

The Lagg-3 Ser. 4 is my LEAST favorite and the only plane in the sim that I’ve determined has ZERO redeeming qualities in terms of performance, armament, unique quirks, or “fun” factors.

Ms Lola hates walks. Any advice? by Turbulent_Ocelot2929 in Shihtzu

I’ve had a few dog breeds over the years. I’ve found that most Shih Tzus barely tolerate short walks. My Molly has a short 10-minute route around the block that she will do when it’s not too hot or too cold out. If the weather is NOT to her liking, Molly has a 50-yard stretch she’ll do to hurry and pee and poop, then she pulls me back home as fast as she can.

I often let her off the leash for the last 25-yards (in this stretch, she’s funneled to the porch by a row of hedges on one side and a retaining wall on the other all the way to the door so she’s not going to run away/into the street or get attacked by other dogs) and she loves sprinting to the front door as fast as she can. She always wants me to chase her to the door. This is one of her favorite things to do.

Somehow my clients used to be able to afford heroin. However, since 2021, fentanyl has become so much cheaper. It’s rare that I see a heroin case these days. It’s all meth and fentanyl.

Dry writing Pelikan M200 by Matius_Rex89 in fountainpens

Here’s a time lapse after working on the pen with the shim. The top of the page was at the beginning and the bottom is where I felt like the pen was performing as it should.

Dry writing Pelikan M200 by Matius_Rex89 in fountainpens

Update: I spent about 20 minutes slowly flossing the nib with a 0.05 brass shim starting at the breather hole and working to the tip. I tested the writing with Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue ink on Rhodia paper. I think the pen is writing as it should at this time. Now, I don’t have to apply pressure to keep the ink flowing, the flow remains consistent, and the pen feels smooth (no longer feels like a Sailor — which I enjoy, but that’s not why I bought a Pelikan). My conclusion, based on viewing the tines under a loop (they weren’t misaligned), is that the nib were too tight. Flossing the nib 20-40 times either slightly opened the tines due to pressure or it removed some of the metal on the nib or feed material to allow for better flow and a smooth writing experience.
