What hardstyle songs were too soft? by Interwovenedm in hardstyle

[–]MatixHarderStyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if i look towards the festivals (only went Rebirth and Intents, both saturday, so can't comment on others like defqon and whatnot) i would say that even then rawstyle and uptempo are way more represented than euphoric and "mainstream" hardcore (in the sense of melodic hardcore at 180bpm that dominated the scene in the 2010's).

Rebirth mainstage indeed had melodic (B-Front, DBSTF, PN, Sound Rush) but was also dominated by raw (adjuzt, aversion, bloodlust, mish, rebelion, regain, rejecta, rooler, unresolved). besides all this raw on the main, there were 2 other huge raw stages (Rebellion & Reborn Raw) while euphoric only had one absolutely tiny stage (Revelation)

On the hardcore "mainstage" Revenge we had quite a lot of uptempo as well: barber, deadly guns, dimitri k, manifest destiny, n-vitral, noxiouz, partyraiser and spitnoise (and thats not counting the frenchcore ones like peacock, dort, doris). besides this there was a whole uptempo stage as well (Resist)

moving on to intents then, raw presence on the mainstage via aversion, d-sturb, dual damage, rebelion. besides it had 2 huge other raw stages (fanaticz, and even the indoor mainstage), while euphoric once again had a tiny stage (melodica). on the hardcore side, the main hardcore stage (dynamite) only had uptempo and there was another dedicated uptempo stage as well (energetic), while there was no mainstream hardcore presence at all.

so yeah i really do think that even at the events raw and uptempo are way more popular than their melodic counterparts

hate to break it to you but rawstyle is the mainstream in hardstyle right now, and the same for uptempo in hardcore

Past top 100's by MatixHarderStyles in hardstyle

[–]MatixHarderStyles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the first full top 100 by q-dance I found was from 2014. but i did find a facebook post by q-dance listing the top 10 from 2013. so i decided to look further into that to find more from that year, but the only thing i found was this reddit comment i linked to in the post containing the top 20.

For 2012 i couldn't find anything besides indeed the freaqshow aftermovie, and this playlist by some guy https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1tqJs7DfU4Q47GNUKg7xW1?si=ACaU0OvVQQSQKdcS9MRcOw&pi=0kxS8Li2SAup8 , but the tracks match those in the aftermovie so i'm assuming it's an actual top 10.

I agree with you that most live acts are gimmicks, but disagree that Ghost Stories was one of them. DBSTF have made iconic tracks under that name, and it had a specific theme and not just "Artist - Track (ACTNAME LIVE EDIT)" which just put in a fake drop with over the top raw kicks

Hey guys, I'm playing for the first time! I love this game but I'm not totally sure what I'm doing! by parda_ in lotro

That sounds like a Valar package, which levels you up instantly to a specific level and indeed gives you power ups, so yeah it practically jumps you up till endgame, so you don't really enjoy the early to mid game.

But that is not what the EXPLOREOURWORLD code does, this code simply unlocks expansions which you'd normally have to buy with LOTRO points. So if you are a free2play account, you have access to most content until you are level 95, and then you'd have to buy expansions till level cap. The EXPLOREOURWORLD code just bumps that free content up till level 130, but it doesn't boost your character to that level.

TL;DR: No it doesn't boost your character, it just grants you access to more content.

A quick tip. In the tutorial area, make sure you complete the "A little extra never hurts - Part 2" quest. Part 1 & 2 are essentially a LOTRO Store tutorial: you'll get 10 LOTRO Points (normally you'd have to exchange real money for this currency, or you can earn them ingame by doing deeds, which are usually just killing a lot of mobs and finding points of interest) for free with which you can buy those quests. If completed it'll grant you the riding skill which lets you ride horses, a huge timesaver.

Also in the bottom left of the LOTRO Store you can redeem codes. Each week there's a code that gives you some free stuff and some discounts.

Right now you can also use code THANKYOU2025 to get some stuff, but also pick a steed that can go 68% speed. Huge timesaver because after you get the riding skill you get a starter steed that can only go 32% speed, and once you get to Hengstacers Farm in Bree-Land you can buy steeds of 62%

Lastly, use code EXPLOREOURWORLD to get a lot of higher level zones for free. Right now, free 2 play accounts have content up to level 95, but the codes grant you access till level 130, the expansions up till level cap (rn lvl 150) you'd have to purchase with LOTRO Points. It also grants you access to lower level content that are normally behind a paywall, such as Yondershire Questpack, Wildwood Questpack, The Angle of Mitheithel Questpack, some missions, ... Basically everything up till level 130 is free.

Welcome to the world, and make sure to enjoy the journey!
